Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Whitecourt office is recruiting for a Mechanical Tradesperson, Millwright to join the team. The position reports to the Mechanical Maintenance Shift Lead at (Kaybob South) K3 Gas Plant and will be responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance on all rotating equipment within the K3 facility.   The K3 Gas Plant is part of Pembina’s Gas Services Business Unit which provides gas gathering, compression, shallow cut processing and both sweet and sour processing facilities for its customers, primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts.

K3 is a sour gas processing facility,  processes such as inlet separation, amine sweetening, gas dehydration, lean oil, compression and sulfur extraction are utilized to produce saleable hydrocarbon products. K3 is a first-class ABSA registered facility which uses steam generation for heat, utilities, pumping and compression operations.   

The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, be self-motivated, display a goal-oriented attitude and eagerness to be part of a strong maintenance team. K3 is a unionized environment, and the shift is currently 4, by 10 hours per day.  There is also transportation provided from either Fox Creek, Edson, or Whitecourt.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules.” To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety;
  • Complete corrective and preventative maintenance on rotating equipment in accordance with Pembina’s preventable maintenance management program;
  • Assist operations in plant optimization and troubleshooting;
  • Provide technical support on new projects and management of change (MOC);
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, start up, and maintenance of new equipment;
  • Assist in completing rotating equipment overhauls; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Mechanic or Millwright Trade Certificate with Interprovincial Red Seal or equivalent;
  • Experience in gas plant and facility operations;
  • Ability to troubleshoot engine, compressor, pump, fan and steam turbine problems effectively;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications;
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication;
  • Working knowledge and experience with SAP would be an asset; 
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License; and
  • Safety Courses: TDG, H2S Alive, First Aid would be an asset, but if incomplete, will be provided by company to the successful candidate.


This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.  You will also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

The successful candidate must live within 100km of the K3 Facility (3-15-59-18-W5). 

This Position resides within Local 855 Union 

 

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
