Overview

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s is recruiting for a Turnaround Planner to join the team. This position will be servicing both the Fox Creek and Empress districts.  The Planner reports to the Supervisor, Turnaround in the Gas Services Business Unit (GBU), part of Pembina’s Facilities division.  The Gas Services Business Unit provides gas gathering, compression, shallow cut processing and both sweet and sour deep cut processing services for its customers, primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts. 

Responsibilities

The Senior Turnaround Planner is responsible for assembling turnaround work scope, detailed planning of work orders, scheduling, procurement, finance, execution and close out of turnarounds at Pembina Gas services facilities.  Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Working with Operations, engineering, and projects to develop a comprehensive work scope for the turnarounds.
  • Develop detailed work plans for all turnaround work scope.
  • Develop a detailed work schedule and identify critical path for the turnaround event.
  • Work with Supply Chain Management in the procurement of services and materials for Turnarounds.
  • Work with the Cost controller to build and manage the AFE for Turnarounds and track and report all costs.
  • Optimize turnaround activities to increase safety, reduce duration and reduce cost. 
  • Provide supervision and guidance for the execution of the Turnaround.
  • Hold look-back reviews and document lessons learned for future turnarounds.  
  • Provide technical input and support relating to maintenance procedures and job plans that adhere to Pembina Maintenance Management (PMM) processes, practices and systems.
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) on all Safety Critical equipment failures and any other equipment failures classified as medium to high risk, while ensuring corrective and preventative actions are taken to prevent a recurrence.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to optimize equipment reliability and reduce downtime to ensure an alignment with maintenance strategies.
  • Participate in periodic internal compliance reviews and/or audit activities and ensure corrective actions are implemented, primarily within SAP Plant Maintenance.
  • Complete vendor prequalification, verification of approved status and assessment of qualifications and participate in the on-going vendor assessments and evaluations.
  • Review of Facility Integrity and PMM documentation and records to ensure conformance with the requirements, business processes, certifications and KPIs; and
  • Contribute to a team environment that values inclusion & diversity.

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Turnaround/Project planning is required.
  • Experience in a gas plant operations/maintenance environment is an asset.
  • Journeyman trades ticket and/or Steam Ticket preferred; Maintenance Planning Certification is an asset.
  • Experience with MS Office & SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PMM) is an asset; other maintenance management systems (i.e.: Maximo) may be considered. 
  • Experience with P6 or MS project is and asset.
  • Technical procedure writing experience is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are required; and
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
     

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing.  You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract. 

The successful candidate must live within 100 km of a Pembina office in Alberta.   Preference will be given to the Whitecourt/Fox Creek area.  Camp will be required for a successful candidate not living in the Fox Creek area.  

Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
