Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is hiring a Power Engineering Intern to support operations at the Duvernay Gas Plant. This role reports to the Day Foreman, West District, within the Gas Services Business Unit (GBU), part of Pembina’s Operations Division.

 

This position is based at the Duvernay Gas Plant near Fox Creek, Alberta, approximately 250 km northwest of Edmonton. The role is best suited for certificate level Power Engineering students seeking hands on experience in a gas plant operating environment.

 

The Duvernay facility includes inlet separation, condensate stabilization, amine sweetening, compression, glycol dehydration, refrigeration, acid gas incineration, NGL storage, glycol fired heaters, and utilities.

 

This Intern will gain practical exposure by working alongside experienced operations staff, supporting safe and efficient plant operations while developing foundational operating skills.  The work schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off, rotating 12hour day and night shifts.  Living accommodation options may be available and can be reviewed during the interview

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Shadow operations staff to gain practical knowledge and experience in a gas plant setting;
  • Support day-to-day work related to the operations team;
  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of “Zero by Choice” by caring for yourself and others and following Pembina’s Life Saving Rules at all times;

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Power Engineering program; and returning to school following the end of the work term;
  • Ability to commit to the full duration of the term and required schedule;
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn in a structured operating environment, aligned with Pembina’s values and safety expectations; and
  • A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driver’s abstract is required.

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
