Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s K3 Gas Plant is actively hiring for Sr Technologist/Engineer position to join the team. This position reports to the Supervisor, Facility Integrity in the Technical Services Unit (TSU), part of Pembina’s Corporate Services Division. On behalf of Pembina’s Business Units, TSU manages a comprehensive integrity management program, which includes Facility Integrity, Pipeline Integrity, Geotechnical, Corrosion Control, Asset Management, Product Quality and Measurement, Geographical Information System, Integrity Project Execution, and Automation Services. TSU provides leading technical expertise that optimizes performance and minimizes operational and project risk.
The Senior Technologist/Engineer, Facility Integrity (Professional) plays a vital role within the Technical Services Unit (TSU) team, providing essential support to Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and selected aspects of Construction. This role is responsible for all matters related to in-service pressure equipment and tanks, which are managed under the Facility Integrity Management Program (FIMP).
The Professional assumes full responsibility and accountability for maturing assets within a designated geographical area, ensuring that Facility Integrity services are comprehensive, aligned with the needs of the business unit, cost-effective, and compliant with all legal and applicable regulatory standards.
The successful candidate must live within 100 km of the K3 facility
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

- Oversee facility integrity programs within area of responsibility as applicable (e.g. gas plants, compressor stations, pump stations, product storage, etc.);
- Maintain and manage equipment database, including review and scheduling inspection activities;
- Leads in planning, coordination and execution for facility integrity activities, including turnarounds and integrity driven projects;
- Performs and/or coordinates all equipment inspection and NDE activities, including installation inspections, and ensures they are performed as required and scheduled;
- Establishment of inspection and maintenance plans and strategies for all assigned facilities;
- Collecting, trending, and analyzing corrosion monitoring programs;
- Conduct and/or coordinate vendor reviews and audits;
- Identify non-conformances (regulatory or internal) and oversee the implementation of corrective and preventative actions;
- Participate in failure investigations and responses involving pressure equipment and tanks, while liaising with and reporting to the regulators;
- Liaises with the local Jurisdictional representatives as applicable (e.g ABSA, AER, BCSA, BC OGC);
- Supports internal and regulatory audits for areas of responsibility;
- Develop and manage budgets for planned integrity activities;
- Continuously adapt to emerging technologies and evolving technical requirements by actively acquiring new skills, applying innovative solutions, and integrating feedback into daily problem-solving.

Qualifications:
- Engineering degree, technical diploma or a trade in a related discipline;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in facility pressure equipment and tank inspection activities;
- API 510 or completion of National Board Commission Examination, and ABSA In-Service Pressure Vessel / Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector Certificate;
- API 579 / 570 / 653, NDE (CGSB) certification, NACE training, or other industry applicable training would be an asset;
- Proactively driven to obtain and/or maintain relevant inspection credentials;
- PCMS and SAP experience would be an asset;
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently given appropriate guidance, and able to prioritize multiple tasks;
- Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders, co-workers, and third parties;
- Ability to rapidly acquire and apply new technical skills, tools, and frameworks in response to evolving project requirements and emerging technologies;
- Strong working knowledge of industry codes, regulations and best practices; and
- Provide availability for on-call duties, which may include evenings, weekends, and after-hours support as required.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.
You will also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
