Overview:

 

Pembina Pipeline Corporations Kaybob South (K3) Facility is recruiting an Electrical Tradesperson to join the team.  This position reports to the Instrument and Electrical Lead in the Gas Services Business Unit (GBU), part of the Facilities Division.

The Gas Services Business Unit provides gas gathering, compression, shallow cut processing and both sweet and sour deep cut processing services for its customers, primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts.  K3 is a sour gas processing facility, processes such as inlet separation, amine sweetening, gas dehydration, lean oil, compression and sulfur extraction are utilized to produce saleable hydrocarbon products. K3 is a first-class ABSA registered facility which uses steam generation for heat, utilities, pumping and compression operations. The focus of this role will be maintaining equipment at the K3 facility. 
 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

 

  • Maintenance of equipment and preventative maintenance, in accordance with Pembina’s safety and operational procedures/standard;
  • Routine maintenance and installation of Electrical Equipment;
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, start up, and maintenance of new equipment;
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure reliability and dependability for day-to-day operations; 
  • Work with facility engineering, operations staff, and technical services to identify technical deficiencies and recommend optimization opportunities; 
  • Assist in planning and executing facility turnarounds; 
  • Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (SAP) to guide the work schedule and provide detailed information on repairs; 
  • Maintain equipment in accordance with our preventable maintenance program; 
  • Enter notifications, create and complete work orders, enter material requests and attach required maintenance documentation; 
  • Assist operations in plant optimization and troubleshooting; 
  • Provide technical support on new projects and design changes; 
  • Provide leadership in the safe execution of work as per the schedule; 
  • Mentor and train other facility personnel as required;
  • Complete periodic reviews of existing tasks to ensure procedures are up to date; 
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, potential process and/or facility improvement; 
  • Ensure availability during assigned On-Call periods, and respond to troubleshooting calls in a timely manner;

Qualifications:

 

  • Electrical Journeyperson Certificate desired, however candidates enrolled in pipefitter apprenticeship program may also be considered; 
  • A demonstrated personal commitment to safety, and recognized as a safety leader;
  • Previous related technical and industry experience; 
  • Strong understanding of facility and pipeline operations; 
  • Ability to guide maintenance activities within the scope of Pembina’s operating practices as well as the applicable industry standards and regulations; 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; 
  • Previous experience with SAP Maintenance Module is highly desirable; 
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; 
  • Positive mindset with a proven track record of team collaboration; 
  • Demonstrated organizational, time-management, and leadership skills; 
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License; and
  • Safety Courses: TDG, H2S Alive, First Aid.

 

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.  You will also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

The successful candidate must live within 100km of the K3 Facility (3-15-59-18-W5). 

This Position resides within Local 855 Union.

 

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
