Overview:
Pembina is sourcing for a Planner/Scheduler to join the Valleyview Planning and Scheduling team. This position reports to the Supervisor, Planning/Scheduling in the Conventional Business Unit, (CBU), part of Pembina’s Pipelines Division. Pembina's conventional pipeline assets comprise a strategically located network of pipelines and related infrastructure including various hubs and terminals. This network transports crude oil, condensate and NGL across much of Alberta and parts of British Columbia, Saskatchewan and North Dakota.
Pembina’s Planning and Scheduling team is currently seeking a highly skilled Planner/Scheduler. The Planner/Scheduler is responsible to complete planning, coordinating, and scheduling of operations work tasks for pipeline and equipment maintenance activities. This includes liaising between control center operations, district supervision and field personnel for planned and reactive maintenance activities.

Planner Responsibilities
- Review approved work notifications daily;
- Lead Weekly Planning Meetings as required with leadership personnel to review Identified work requests, priorities and specifics;
- Perform Detailed Job Planning on Corrective work as well as PM Improvements Including:
- Screening and scoping of work;
- Researching and Operational SME engagement;
- Identifying skills required to perform work tasks;
- Developing task instructions;
- Identifying tools and equipment requirements;
- Work with SCM on Quotes for Materials or Service requirements, as required;
- Initiate purchase requisitions for materials, resources and equipment as per PPL corporate spending criteria;
- Developing material lists and Create Bill of Materials (“BOM”) as required to assist with future planning; and
- Attaching appropriate technical documents, procedures, specifications, drawings, checklists, or reports to orders.
- Collaborate with project teams and internal support groups to integrate workloads into Workorder Management System;
- Assist with and Identify Outage/Availability impacts in the Planning Process to assist Outage Scheduling;
- Review daily failure report/operations log to identify re-occurring trends and potential improvement plans;
- Assist with the development of new Maintenance Plans/Items in the SAP environment;
- Adjust existing Plans/Item as required in part with optimization and efficiency initiatives;
- Working with scheduling, assist with the development of a 52-week maintenance schedule for long range planning/scheduling forecasts;
- Provide Input on how equipment is maintained and operated accordingly to procedure or manufacture recommendations;
- Support the development and implementation of asset management and reliability strategies and initiatives;
- Work with leadership personnel to identify opportunities for improvement and leverage industry best practices;
- Assist with MOC identification in accordance to Pembina’s MOC Policy & Support MOC processes when required;
- Assist with the Development of operational procedures as required, for maintenance activities including equipment shut down, LOTO, and risk assessments;
- Assist Operations & Maintenance with LOTO development for non-routine maintenance activities including cars seals, deviations and bypass plans;
- Assist with Identification and correction of deficiencies in procedures and follow document control process;
- Understand Corporate KPI’s and impacts to the business;
- Establish and maintain internal and external relationships;
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and business requirements; and
- Provide coverage to others within your scope when required.

Scheduler Responsibilities
- Collaborate with external support groups (vendors/contractors) to coordinate start dates with operations for planned activities;
- Collaborate with project teams and internal support groups to integrate workloads into maintenance schedules;
- Lead and Collaborate with leadership personnel in assigned areas to develop work schedules for operational staff;
- Actively manage and maintain shift calendars to accurately reflect capacity/available crew hours;
- Manage & review work order backlogs to identify opportunities to integrate into the scheduling process;
- Assist with and Identify Outage/Availability impacts to operations and schedule accordingly to minimize;
- Lead Scheduling meetings;
- Publish and maintain work schedules;
- Communicate maintenance schedule and progress to operations team:
- Discuss schedule attainment (success) from previous workday/week;
- Review upcoming daily/weekly maintenance schedule as part of Operational Meetings;
- Touch on impacts to units, facilities, or pipelines;
- Discuss operational issues which may prevent job execution; and
- Discuss upcoming service/material requirements.
- Coordinate planned maintenance/operational impacts between control center operators and field personnel;
- Review daily failure report/operations log to identify break-in work that may affect the current schedule;
- Working with Planning, Draft/Develop 52-week maintenance schedule for long range planning/scheduling forecasts;
- Understand Corporate KPI’s and impacts to the business;
- Establish and maintain internal and external relationships;
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and business requirements; and
- Provide coverage to others within your scope when required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years progressively responsible related experience in operations and maintenance;
- Team collaborator and contributor in complex operational environments;
- Project scheduling experience would be an asset in this role;
- Experience with SAP (Plant Maintenance) will be an asset;
- Experience with Prometheus will be an asset;
- Technical procedure writing experience will be an asset;
- The successful candidate must be an excellent communicator with strong organizational skills;
- Journeyperson Trades certificate is an asset; and
- CMRP and/or MMP certification is an asset.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.
The successful candidate must live within 50 km of Valleyview, AB
