Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Valleyview office is actively hiring 2 Summer Student General Laborers, to join the team. The Summer Students will report directly to the Valleyview East Foreman and will work alongside experienced operations personnel to perform a range of field-based and administrative duties. The Summer Students will contribute to operations and maintenance activities within the Northern Lights District.

These roles will provide valuable hands-on experience in a safety focused environment and exposure to pipeline operations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop practical skills, gain industry knowledge, and contribute to Pembina’s commitment to safe, reliable, and efficient operations throughout the duration of the work term.
The regular work schedule for these positions is Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Within Pembina’s Northern Lights District is Valleyview – a hub for pump stations, truck terminals and several natural gas liquids and crude pipelines. The office provides operations and maintenance support for assets in the region.


Note: this is a 4 month term and the successful candidate must live within 100 km of Valleyview, AB.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Assisting with operations activities and projects as required, general maintenance and painting, housekeeping at Lease Automatic Custody Transfer (LACT) sites, cutting grass and weed removal;
  • Support day‑to‑day work and learning activities related to the team or function, using tools such as (e.g. SAP, Microsoft Office, Copilot/ChatGPT, and other applicable systems);
  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of “Zero by Choice” by caring for yourself and others and following Pembina’s Life Saving Rules at all times;
  • Demonstrate Pembina’s values by working in a manner that is Safe, Trustworthy, Respectful, Collaborative, and Entrepreneurial, recognizing that how results are achieved matters; and
  • Contribute to an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace by being gracious, kind, respectful, and working effectively with others.

Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Office, Copilot/ChatGPT, and other applicable systems;
  • Ability to commit to the full duration of the term and required schedule Must be available to work the entire term (May to August 2026); and
  • Motivated, reliable, and friendly style with strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety and Pembina’s values.

 

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and requires Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.
               

You will also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
