Overview:

 

Pembina's conventional pipeline assets comprise a strategically located network of pipelines and related infrastructure including various hubs and terminals. This network transports crude oil, condensate and natural gas liquids (NGL) across much of Alberta and parts of British Columbia, Saskatchewan and North Dakota. 

 

Reporting to the Day Foreman, the successful candidate will be responsible for strategically leading the Operations and Maintenance in the Valleyview west area for the Northern lights district.  

 

The position is a camp position with an 8 and 6 rotation.
 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

 

  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety;
  • Ensure all maintenance and operations duties are completed safely, in compliance with Pembina’s procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;
  • Routine pipeline operations and maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repair of pump stations, block valves, electrical, and mechanical equipment;
  • Provide appropriate training and leadership to develop and mentor staff, and support the succession planning initiatives of the business; 
  • Participate in a weekly call out rotation responding to after hour call outs due to equipment and/or operational problems; 
  • Maintain equipment by making repairs and conducting field inspections to ensure reliability and dependability for day to day operations;
  • Complete preventative maintenance schedules of stations and sites to ensure all maintenance is completed to predetermined schedules;
  • Perform Electrical maintenance duties to ensure all maintenance activities and piping integrity are completed in a timely, safe, and environmentally conscious manner;
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of new equipment;
  • Organize and manage contractors as required;
  • Maintain & troubleshoot electrical distribution systems and control systems;
  • Perform electrical/instrumentation maintenance duties, to ensure all maintenance activities and piping integrity follow our safety culture “Zero by Choice.” Exceeding regulatory compliance and environmental responsibilities;
  • Be responsible for maintaining daily pipeline operations including measurement concepts, product quality, facility inspections, pipeline integrity and pigging activities;
  • Organize and manage contractors as required;
  • 8 days on, 6 days off - 10 hrs./day shift;
  • Support company goals and objectives; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years related work experience;
  • Interprovincial Journeyman Electrical / Instrumentation or certification equivalent preferred;
  • Variable Frequency Drive troubleshooting and maintenance experience;  
  • PLC programming experience, together with a familiarity of a variety of instrumentation equipment;
  • Hands-on experience with various computer applications;
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work well in a team coupled with a proven track record of success of positively interfacing with Field, Engineering, and Technical Support personnel;
  • Ability to perform and direct safe and efficient operations in a fast-paced environment;
  • Results oriented with a flexible & adaptable approach to change; and
  • Possess a valid driver’s license. 

 

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

 

The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Valleyview, AB.
 

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
