Overview:

Pembina’s Gas Services Business Unit (GBU) is looking for a dedicated and experienced Shift Lead, Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) to support the team at the Younger and Steeprock Gas plants in the GBU West District. Based in the Dawson Creek Area, this role reports directly to the Foreman, Maintenance. As the Shift Lead E&I, you will play a critical role in assisting the Foreman with maintenance management, while providing essential support to the E&I maintenance staff and contractors. 

The Gas Services Business Unit, (GBU) provides gas gathering, compression, shallow cut processing and both sweet and sour deep cut processing services for its customers, primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts.
 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Champion Safety: Promote and uphold Pembina’s "Zero by Choice" safety culture and "Life Saving Rules,” ensuring a safe working environment for all; visit pembina.com/safety for more information; 
  • Team Leadership: Assist the Maintenance Foreman in providing direction and support to the E&I maintenance staff and contractors, managing individual and team performance to meet operational goals;
  • Maintenance Management: Play a key role in supporting the Pembina Maintenance Management (PMM) System, developing and managing short and long-term preventive maintenance schedules;
  • Quality Control: Provide quality control for PM paperwork, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company standards;
  • Project Coordination: Organize and facilitate team meetings, manage project logistics, and assign duties to ensure efficient project execution;
  • Operational Excellence: Identify and recommend improvements to enhance facility efficiency and optimization, contributing to high reliability and cost-effective operations;
  • Budget and Cost Management: Provide valuable input into facility E&I budgets, helping to manage costs and drive financial performance;
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all electrical regulatory requirements are met, maintaining compliance with industry standards and best practices;
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between departments, including Management, Operations, Engineering, Measurement, Planning/Scheduling, Accounting, and the Maintenance Team, to drive seamless communication and collaboration;
  • Field Leadership: While a strong presence in the office is required, you will also take a hands-on leadership role in the field, working alongside your team to ensure operational success;

  • Work schedule follows four 10-hour days per week.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Certification: A Journeyperson Certificate with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Instrumentation/Electrical Trades is required; 
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively;
  • SAP Experience: Experience using SAP Maintenance Management is highly desirable;
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of equipment failure modes, gas plant operations, and the ability to implement effective maintenance strategies;
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively; 
  • Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of MS Office applications; and
  • Driver’s License: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.


This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.  You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.


The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Taylor BC.  

 

BC Pay Transparency Requirement: The base salary range for this position is $133,950.00  CAD to $141,000.00  CAD.  Actual total compensation may differ based on candidate's qualifications and location.

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
