Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Whitecourt office is recruiting for a Mechanical Tradesperson, Millwright, to join the team in the Slave Lake area. The Position reports to the Day Foreman, in the Conventional/ Oilsands Pipelines Business Unit (COBU), part of Pembina’s Operations Division. Pembina's pipeline assets comprise of a strategically located network of pipelines and related infrastructure including various hubs and terminals. This network transports crude oil, condensate and NGL across much of Alberta and parts of British Columbia, Saskatchewan and North Dakota.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, self-motivated, display a goal-oriented attitude and eager to be part of a strong team. The shift will be an 8 and 6 shift with 10-hour days and rotating on-call requirements. There is a living allowance included for people that reside in Slave Lake.
This position will support the Slave Lake, AB. area and the successful candidate will need to reside within 50KM of Slave Lake AB.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

- Completing corrective and preventative maintenance on rotating equipment in accordance with Pembina’s preventable maintenance management program;
- Perform operations duties as required. Including pipeline pigging, product quality determination and other operational duties as required;
- Providing technical support on new projects and management of change (MOC);
- Assist with installation, commissioning, start up, and maintenance of new equipment;
- Assist in completing rotating equipment overhauls;
- Contribute to an environment that values equity, inclusion, and diversity;
- Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace; and
- Assist with maintenance of all assets related to pipeline operation.
Qualifications:
- Apprentice and/or Journeyman Certification Mechanic or Millwright or Interprovincial Red Seal equivalent will be considered;
- Experience in oil and gas operations is considered an asset;
- Ability to troubleshoot pump, valves and associated equipment effectively;
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications;
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication;
- Working knowledge and experience with SAP/ BlueWorx would be an asset;
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License; and
- Safety Courses: TDG, H2S Alive, First Aid would be an asset, but if incomplete, they will be provided by the company for the successful candidate.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.
The successful candidate must live within 50 km of Slave Lake, AB.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
