Overview:

 

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Swan Hills Office is hiring a Field Operator to join the team on a 12-month term. This position reports to the Day Foreman in the Whitecourt North area, part of Pembina’s Conventional Pipeline Business Unit.  

 

Pembina's Conventional Pipeline assets comprise a strategically located network of pipelines and related infrastructure including various hubs and terminals. This network transports crude oil, condensate and NGL across much of Alberta and parts of British Columbia, Saskatchewan and North Dakota.

 

This position will support the Slave Lake, AB. area and will reside within 50KM of Slave Lake, AB.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Demonstrate Pembina’s values of Safe, Trustworthy, Respectful, Collaborative and Entrepreneurial; 
  • Assist Foreman in completion of incident and near miss investigations; 
  • Consistently demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and determine alternative solutions for operational issues in a safe, cost effective, and sustainable manner; 
  • Complete periodic reviews of existing tasks and ensure procedures are up to date; 
  • Assist in developing additional site-specific procedures and Task Hazard Analyses (THA’s) as needed to ensure work can be performed safely; 
  • Provide project support with the development of Task Hazard Analyses (THA’s) and design reviews; 
  • Support and participate in Community Engagement activities; 
  • On-Call capability for Whitecourt/Swan Hills assets; 
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace; and 
  • Demonstrate Pembina’s values of Safe, Trustworthy, Respectful, Collaborative and Entrepreneurial. 
     

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 5+ years of related experience (pipeline, gas plant, refinery, or production);
  • Experience in ground disturbance and underground facility locating would be considered an asset;
  • Ability to read and interpret pipeline related construction drawings, schematics and alignment drawings;
  • Collaborative, excellent organizational and detailed capabilities;
  • Agility in pivoting from competing priorities;
  • Flexibility nature in providing on going demands; 
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite;  
  • Strong capabilities in written and verbal communication skills;
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s License; and
  • Knowledge of SAP and a mechanical aptitude would be an asset.

 

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

 

The successful candidate must live within 50 km of Slave Lake, AB. 

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
