Overview

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Whitecourt office is recruiting for a Journeyperson Electrical Tradesperson to join the team.

 

Reporting to the Area Foreman, the successful candidate will be responsible for E&I Maintenance and Operational duties for liquid pipeline operations in the Northern Lights District.

 

Pembina's Conventional Pipeline assets comprise a strategically located network of pipelines and related infrastructure including various hubs and terminals. This network transports Crude Oil, Condensate, NGL and Ethane across much of Alberta, parts of British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and North Dakota.

 

This position can be located near Swan Hills or Slave Lake AB.

 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety;
  • Complete assignments safely, efficiently and in an environmentally conscious manner; in compliance with Pembina’s procedures, regulatory requirements and industry best practices;
  • On-going preventative maintenance and repair of all electrical and instrumentation equipment such as MCC switch gear (low and medium voltage up to 4160 VAC), VFDs, Motors, Valve operators, UPS Systems, field indicating transmitters, Liquid Meters, Flow computers, Sulphur Analyzers, and Gas Chromatographs;
  • Complete preventative maintenance for Pump Stations, LACT sites and Block Valves to ensure all equipment maintenance is completed to predetermined schedules;
  • Install new instrumentation and electrical equipment;
  • Calibrate of Meters and Analog devices and also responsible for lock out tag out of equipment and devices;
  • Work in collaboration with Mechanical and Operations groups;
  • Work with Planners and Schedulers to ensure work orders are completed effectively and efficiently within SAP;
  • Liquid Sampler & HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting;
  • Programming and troubleshooting using Modicon, Telepace, Unity/Control Expert, Vijeo Design and Vijeo Citec;
  • Supervision of construction contractors as required;
  • Recommend improvements to Facility efficiency and optimization and follow through to completion utilizing assistance from Operations Engineering and being compliant with our MOC (Management of Change) process; and
  • Support an Equitable, Inclusive and Diverse workplace.

 

Qualifications

  • Alberta or Interprovincial Journeyperson Certification in Electrical is required;
  • 5 progressive years field experience;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required;
  • Strong knowledge of Modicon PLC’s, RTU’s, VFD’s along with other analytical and instrumentation equipment associated with pipeline operations;
  • Some knowledge of communication systems would be an asset;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, SAP and other business-related computer programs and applications;
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication;
  • Safety Courses: TDG, H2S Alive, First Aid would be an asset, but if incomplete, will be provided by Pembina to the successful candidate; and
  • Power System’s and SAP MM experience would be an asset.

 

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

 

The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Slave Lake or within the town of Swan Hills.

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
