Overview
Pembina Pipeline Corporation is currently recruiting for a Field Communications Supervisor to join the Field Communications team in our Sherwood Park office. This position reports to the Manager, Field Communications in the Information Services Unit (ISU).

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Field Communications, the Supervisor will be accountable for the integration of new pipeline facilities into the existing SCADA System, maintaining existing telecommunications infrastructure, as well as participating in new pipeline and system initiatives at the project level. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise and mentor a team of telecommunications technologists
- Assess team core competencies and provide on-the-job training and development opportunities
- Ensure safety and compliance (regulatory or internal) for all Field Communications activities
- Oversee and ensure that Field Communications activities and projects are thoroughly reviewed and approved
- Responsible for development, enforcement, revision, and updates of Field Communication tasks, job functions, procedures, and safety plans
- Maintains overall system stability and health by using proactive system maintenance techniques
- Ensure 100% available field communications feeding the SCADA and Leak Detection systems required for the efficient and safe monitoring and control of all Pembina operated pipeline systems
- Promote a strong working relationship with strategic vendors and service providers to enable efficient delivery of circuits, equipment, and services
- Participate in tracking and budgeting of operational, project, and service costs
- Work with the Field Communications Manager to investigate and recommend new software and technology for Field Communications that provides financial or operational/safety benefits for Pembina. (Innovation)
- Collaborate with Pembina’s Field Communication West and NOC teams, SCADA & Leak Detection teams, control center staff, engineering groups, automation, and field operations personnel

Job Qualifications
- Post-secondary education from a recognized technical training institution (such as NAIT, SAIT, BCIT, etc.)
- Formal experience involving progressively more challenging responsibilities in telecommunications, and associated technologies
- Strong skills at reading and interpreting telecommunication equipment, networking, tower, and building engineered drawings
- Strong technical understanding of telecommunications concepts, including microwave radio, networking, cellular, and satellite
- Experience with SCADA communications
- Commitment to expanding knowledge and experience in network telecommunications and leadership
- Inspire your team to do their best work every day and rally around a common vision for the future
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a constantly changing workload
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for effective interactions with all levels of stakeholders
- Flexibility to provide after-hours support work will be necessary, given that our pipelines are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License
Position requires applicant to reside within 50km of Sherwood Park, Alberta
