Overview
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Sherwood Park Control Center (SPCC) is seeking a Scheduler to join the SPCC System Planning Team. This position reports to the Supervisor, SPCC System Planning, Operations and Projects.
The System Planning Team plays a pivotal role in enabling Pembina to maximize high margin commodity movement from gathering systems to international transmission lines. As a part of the SPCC System Planning Team you will be responsible for the scheduling, planning and optimization of all product movements within the pipeline systems.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Work closely with the SPCC Control Center, Field Operations and Business Unit Representatives with a focus on optimizing product movements throughout Pembina’s pipeline network;
- Create daily product pump and delivery schedules for all pipeline systems;
- Plan and coordinate product movement schedules to facilitate maintenance activities, project execution and other similar activities for all pipeline systems;
- Provide technical assistance and data analysis to support the optimization of existing pipelines;
- Liaise with external customers regarding product movements, maintenance coordination as required and requested;
- Support the successful execution of corporate wide productivity and efficiency initiatives across the business with a multi-level and multi-discipline teams;
- Provide daily stewardship of System Volumes Report to the Corporation;
- Maintain all relevant scheduling records and files;
- Gather and validate pipeline meter data that is used for product scheduling;
- Assist with report preparation, analysis and data as requested or required;
- Aid in execution of special projects as assigned by Supervisory staff i.e., SPCC Operating Manuals, development of SOP’s; and
- Support and participate in an inclusive diverse workplace.
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work 8 hours a day on a rotating schedule; Shift rotation is 5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 2 days off, 10 days on, 4 days off. On call one weekend per month;
- Preference will be given to candidates with a technical diploma or designation;
- Related experience with Pipeline and System Operations in an industrial or control room setting would be an asset;
- Working knowledge of pipeline product scheduling concepts and associated software.
- Demonstrated aptitude and/or previous experience operating multi product pipelines would be an asset;
- Energetic, resilient, collaborative and goal oriented;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present, influence and collaborate at all levels;
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams & SharePoint;
- Experience in data analytics tools/methods would be considered an asset e.g., Excel, SEEQ, Power BI, Python, operational data historians OSIsoft PI etc.;
- Strong triage, prioritization and decision-making skills based on value, risk and operational needs;
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations - flexible, adaptable, learns quickly and demonstrates courage and perseverance;
- Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment; and
- Demonstrated aptitude to transfer business goals into operational success.
The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Sherwood Park, AB.
