Overview:
Pembina’s Sherwood Park, Planning & Outage team has an opening for an 18 month term. Reporting to the Supervisor, the Scheduler will be responsible for the coordination and planning of all product movement within Pembina’s pipeline systems, as well as the open communication to all internal stakeholders. Other responsibilities include working Pembina’s business groups and scheduling teams to enhance safe and reliable pipeline operations.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
System Planning:
- Develop daily, weekly, and long-term schedules for oil movements, including pumping and delivery schedules, maintenance activities, meter proving, and similar events; and
- Coordinate and communicate schedules with various stakeholders, including operations teams, logistics personnel, and external customers.
Optimization:
- Optimize the use of pipeline capacity to maximize throughput;
- Balance supply and demand to minimize downtime and disruptions in the pipeline network; and
- Manage and monitor inventory levels at various points along the pipeline network, including storage tanks and terminals, to ensure adequate supply and prevent overfilling or shortages.
Maintenance Planning:
- Plan and schedule routine maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and equipment upgrades, to ensure the integrity and reliability of the pipeline system; and
- Coordinate maintenance schedules with operational requirements to minimize disruptions.
Communication:
- Liaise with external customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders regarding product movements, nominations, and scheduling changes;
- Provide timely and accurate information to relevant parties about scheduling and operational status.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on pipeline performance, including throughput, downtime, and maintenance activities; and
- Analyze data to identify trends, operational inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Problem Resolution:
- Address scheduling conflicts, equipment failures, and other operational issues promptly and effectively; and
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to resolve problems and minimize disruptions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Address scheduling conflicts, equipment failures, and other operational issues promptly and effectively;

- Provide assistance in execution of special projects as assigned; and

Qualifications:
- 5 + years related experience with Pipeline Operations in a Control Room setting;
- Ability to work 8 hours a day on a rotating schedule. Shift rotation is 5 days on 2 days off, 10 days on, 4 days off;
- Preference will be given to candidates with a technical diploma or designation;
- Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and trouble shooting skills;
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite;
- Demonstrated aptitude and/or previous experience operating multi product pipelines would be an asset;
- Working knowledge of pipeline product scheduling concepts and associated software; and
- Familiar with corporate policies and applicable regulatory guidelines would be an asset.
The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Sherwood Park, AB.
Pembina’s Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
