Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Sherwood Park office is actively hiring for a Planner/Scheduler to join the team. This position reports to the Supervisor, Planning/Scheduling in the Transmission & Extraction team, part of Pembina’s Operations Division.
The Transmission & Extraction Operations assets are responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant transportation and extraction of hydrocarbons across Pembina’s integrated pipeline and facilities network. The asset delivers critical connectivity between upstream supply and downstream markets while maintaining a strong focus on asset integrity, operational discipline, and regulatory excellence.
As part of a centralized Planning and Scheduling team, the Planner/Scheduler coordinates maintenance activities to ensure work is planned, prioritized, communicated, and executed safely and efficiently. This role collaborates closely with Operations, the Control Centre, Outage Management, and field teams to balance operational requirements, resource availability, and maintenance priorities while supporting planning activities as needed.
Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
- Integrate maintenance requirements with operational priorities, outage plans, resource availability, and system constraints to maintain safe and reliable operations;
- Coordinate planning and scheduling activities across Operations, Maintenance, Control Centre Operations, Outage Management, and other stakeholders;
- Develop and maintain executable short- and long-term maintenance schedules, including 52-week plans, adjusting priorities as business and operational needs evolve; and
- Ensure maintenance activities are properly planned, communicated, and aligned with operational requirements.
Planning:
- Lead planning activities, including notification reviews and weekly planning meetings, to prioritize and coordinate maintenance work;
- Develop detailed corrective and preventive maintenance plans, including field walkdowns, outage planning, and work scope development;
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to assess outage impacts, integrate work into SAP, and optimize asset availability;
- Analyze failure reports, operations logs, and maintenance data to identify improvement opportunities and support reliability initiatives;
- Develop and maintain SAP maintenance plans while supporting asset management, reliability, and continuous improvement strategies; and
- Support Management of Change (MOC), maintenance procedures, risk assessments, equipment shutdown planning, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements to ensure safe and compliant work execution.
Scheduling:
- Develop and coordinate executable maintenance schedules in collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, and leadership teams;
- Review work-order backlogs, operational reports, resource constraints, and maintenance priorities to optimize schedule performance;
- Coordinate outage activities, resource planning, and schedule communications while ensuring alignment on work commitments; and
- Adjust schedules as required to accommodate reactive maintenance, operational requirements, and changing business priorities.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze operational and departmental KPIs to identify trends and drive continuous improvement;
- Provide cross-functional support and adapt to changing priorities to ensure continuity of planning and scheduling activities;

Qualifications:
- Must have 8+ years of progressive experience in operations and maintenance, with a strong understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution;
- Experience with SAP (Plant Maintenance) is considered an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in complex operational environments, supported by strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills;
- A Journeyperson Trades certificate and/or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) certification are considered strong assets; and
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.
You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
