Overview:
Pembina is recruiting for an Interprovincial Journeyman Operations Technician to join the team. This position is a Journeyman Operation and Maintenance Technician for the Alliance Pipeline Saskatchewan operational area. The position reports to the Operations Supervisor for the area in the Transmission Pipelines Business Unit (TBU), part of Pembina’s Operations Division. Pembina's Transmission Pipeline assets have developed through the strategic acquisition of key natural gas and specification ethane transportation infrastructure assets, positioned in some of the most prolific gas producing regions in western Canada and the United States.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

- Ensure all maintenance and operations duties are completed safely, in compliance with Pembina’s procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;
- Routine pipeline operations and maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repair of Compressor stations, block valves, electrical, and mechanical equipment;
- Locating and marking Alliance Pipeline facilities per Pembina’s Damage Prevention Program and One-Call procedures prior to and during excavation;
- Provide oversight and inspection to ensure asset protection and compliance with company procedures of excavation activities near pipeline facilities;
- Provide appropriate training and leadership to develop and mentor staff, and support the succession planning initiatives of the business;
- Participate in a weekly call out rotation responding to after hour call outs due to equipment and/or operational problems;
- Demonstrate learning agility by actively seeking feedback, adapting to new information quickly, and applying learnings to improve performance and deliver results in a dynamic environment;
- Support an Inclusive and Diverse workplace; and
- A willingness to work overtime and overnight travel to other work locations on an as needed basis.
Qualifications:

- 5+ years related industrial work experience;
- Possess a valid driver’s license;
- Interprovincial Journeyman Electrical or Instrumentation or certification equivalent preferred;
- Experience with medium or high voltages considered an asset;
- PLC programming experience, together with a familiarity of a variety of instrumentation equipment;
- Hands-on experience with various computer applications including SAP considered an asset;
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work well in a team coupled with a proven track record of success of positively interfacing with Field, Engineering, and Technical Support personnel;
- Ability to perform and direct safe and efficient operations in a fast-paced environment;
- Results oriented with a flexible & adaptable approach to change; and
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, or processes and apply them effectively in a fast-paced environment.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.
The successful candidate must live within 50 km along the pipeline ROW or any of the following communities: Carlyle, Estevan, Kindersley, Kerrobert, Rosetown.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
