Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Redwater Complex is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman Millwright to join the team. This role is critical in supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our facilities through the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of stationary industrial mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will act as a technical specialist, providing leadership and coordination across maintenance activities, including supporting apprentices, contractors, and cross-functional teams. 

This role directly supports the safe and reliable operation of the Redwater Complex by ensuring critical mechanical equipment is maintained to the highest standards. Through technical expertise and leadership, the Journeyman Millwright contributes to asset reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, supporting Pembina’s commitment to safe operations and strong business performance. 

Liquids Transportation & Fractionation Operations are involved in the fractionation, terminals & storage, logistics, and distribution of specification natural gas liquids throughout North America. Natural Gas Liquids are components of natural gas classified by weight and number of carbon atoms – Methane (C1), Ethane (C2), Propane (C3), Butane (C4), and Condensate (mixture of C5+). Fractionation involves separating the different products in an NGL mix into ethane, propane, and butane.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of “Zero by Choice,” adhere to Life Saving Rules, and demonstrate Pembina’s values in all work performed;  
  • Perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical and rotating equipment while interpreting technical drawings and following established procedures and standards;  
  • Lead commissioning, start-up, maintenance, and overhaul activities, including work during turnarounds and non-routine operations;  
  • Utilize maintenance management systems (PMM/SAP) to plan, execute, and document work;  
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, contractors, and vendors to resolve equipment issues and support reliable operations;  
  • Act as a technical resource and mentor, supporting team development through coaching and knowledge sharing;  
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance reliability, efficiency, and maintenance practices;  
  • Demonstrate learning agility by adapting to evolving equipment, technologies, and processes in a dynamic operating environment; and  
  • Participate in on-call rotation and support broader site and trade activities as required. 

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Mechanical Maintenance Certificate (Millwright or equivalent recognized trade);  
  • Progressive industry experience in the mechanical trade; 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex operational environments;  
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, engineering standards, drawings, and schematics (including P&IDs);  
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, aligned with Pembina’s values;  
  • Demonstrated learning agility and adaptability in dynamic operating environments. 
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills;  
  • Experience with SAP or other Plant Maintenance Management (PMM) systems is considered an asset;  
  • Familiarity with rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, turbines, and seals is considered an asset;  
  • Ability to support on-call rotations and work outside regular shifts as required; and  
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. 

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
