Reporting to the Supervisor, Project Engineering, you’ll work at one of North America’s largest NGL fractionation facilities, where NGLs are processed and stored.

The Project Engineer role is critical to supporting the execution of sustaining capital projects, supporting Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams, ensuring the site operates safely and reliably. As a Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to make critical decisions, develop innovative solutions, and collaborate across disciplines to drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

Project Leadership: 

    • Coordinate with EPC consultants and contractors to design, procure, construct, and commission site assets;
    • Executing within the approved project scope, budget and schedule;
    • Defining project requirements in collaboration with the operations, commercial, HSE, land, regulatory and procurement teams;
    • Securing project funds following Pembina’s project management processes and phases;
    • Preparing capital budgets for upcoming years including a two year look ahead;
    • Providing high level evaluations and prioritization of new project ideas;
    • Forecasting on project costs and schedules;
    • Defining resources to support the projects including representatives from Operations, Technical Services and Maintenance;
    • Providing timely and effective communication with all stakeholders;


Technical Expertise:

    • Ensuring the project satisfies all safety, technical, operational, commercial, maintenance and quality requirements defined in Pembina’s specifications, standards and regulatory codes;
    • Acting as a technical liaison between the contractors associated with the project and Pembina project representatives;


Collaboration:

    • Defining project requirements in collaboration with engineering, maintenance, operations, commercial, HSE, land, regulatory and procurement teams;
    • Coordinating and participating in design reviews, HAZOPs, model reviews, and ensuring proper stakeholder participation for these activities as well as the Management of Change process;

Qualifications:

 

  • Experience: Related, relevant experience in project management, and/or project related roles is an asset;
  • Education: The successful candidate will have a degree in Engineering, PMP Certification, or a combination of both; 
  • Personal Skills: Must be highly analytical, have excellent communication skills, capable of identifying issues and opportunities and developing cost effective solutions;
  • Specialized Skills: A proven track record of success in defining, implementing, and executing projects in the energy industry, or other transferable industries;
  • Standards Knowledge: Possess working knowledge of current industry standards and regulations;
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead projects, set standards, and achieve goals while building strong relationships; and
  • Adaptability: Self-motivated and capable of rapidly acquiring new technical skills to meet evolving project requirements.



This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require Pre-Employment Drug Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.

You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

Pembina’s Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Fridays.

The successful candidate must live within 100 kilometers of Redwater.
