Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Redwater facility is actively hiring several Operators to join the Redwater team. These positions report to the Shift Leads, in the Natural Gas Liquids Business Unit, part of Pembina’s Operations Division.
The Natural Gas Liquids is involved in the Fractionation, Terminaling & Storage, and Logistics and Distribution of specification natural gas liquids throughout north America. Natural Gas Liquids are components of natural gas classified by weight and number of carbon atoms – Methane (C1), Ethane (C2), Propane (C3) Butane (C4) and Condensate (mixture of C5+). Fractionation involves separating the different products in an NGL mix out into Ethane, Propane and Butane.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

- Ensure a high standard of safety by ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed in relation to operational and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is properly prepared for maintenance;
- Maintain close surveillance of all operating conditions to maximize production, process reliability and efficiency;
- Take immediate and decisive actions in emergencies, plant shutdowns, equipment failures, and plant process deviations;
- Continuous upgrade of knowledge by taking various courses and in-house training relating to qualify themselves for further advancement;
- Work effectively in a team environment in starting up and/or shutting down various pieces of equipment in the process area;
- Assist with facility optimization, monitoring and maintenance;
- Visually inspect equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or repair, identifies problems and recommended solutions;
- Mentor, train, and develop junior operators for their respective positions;
- Participate in emergency response activities; including emergency response/preparedness exercises and training; and
- Contribute to an inclusive and diverse workforce.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4th class Power Engineering Certificate and willingness to work towards progressing to the next level;
- Strong working knowledge of NGL fractionation or similar processing facilities is an asset;
- 5+ years progressively responsible related experience in a plant operations environment;
- Working knowledge of SAP is a strong asset;
- Computer and DCS proficiency and excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and economic thinking skills are strong assets for this position;
- A commitment to working safely;
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills that are aligned with Pembina’s core values;
- Experience/qualifications in industrial emergency response would be considered an asset; and
- Valid class 5 driver’s license.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You will also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.
The successful candidate must live within 100 km of the Redwater Facility.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
