Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation's Prince Rupert Terminal is actively hiring for a Foreman to join the team. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for leading frontline employees and contractors in the safe, reliable, and efficient execution of terminal operations and maintenance activities.
The Foreman is a frontline leader responsible for coaching and supporting employees while promoting a strong safety culture, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. This non-union position leads a unionized workforce and requires adaptability, learning agility, and a commitment to developing people and ensuring safe, efficient terminal operations.
This position follows a 6 days on / 6 days off rotation consisting of 12-hour shifts and supports a 24/7 operational environment.
Pembina's Prince Rupert Terminal is a rail-to-marine propane export facility located on Watson Island near Prince Rupert, British Columbia. As Pembina's first marine export terminal, the facility connects Western Canadian propane supplies to international markets through safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible operations. The terminal plays a critical role in Pembina's integrated value chain and is focused on operational excellence, asset reliability, environmental stewardship, and supporting global energy demand.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Champion Pembina’s Zero by Choice safety culture and Life Saving Rules by embedding physical, psychological, and cyber safety into all work practices while taking personal accountability to maintain compliance, support audit readiness, proactively identify risks, and protect our people, assets, and data;
- Lead hazard assessments, inspections, field observations, compliance activities, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-up to support safe and reliable operations.
- Maintain operational records, permits, and regulatory documentation, and support Marine Transportation Security Regulation compliance as an MFSO designate, as assigned.
- Provide day-to-day leadership to a unionized workforce by managing staffing, scheduling, overtime, time administration, shift coverage, training, competency development, coaching, and performance progression.
- Act as the designated on-shift supervisor, making real-time operational, staffing, and cost-management decisions within approved authority.
- Lead shift handovers, operational planning, and crew communications to align priorities, risks, work activities, and safety expectations.
- Coordinate personnel, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders to support operations, maintenance, projects, marine activities, reliability initiatives, and emergency response activities.
- Provide leadership during routine, abnormal, and emergency operating conditions to protect people, assets, the environment, and surrounding communities.
- Support MOC activities and ensure operational readiness for facility and process changes through effective planning, training, documentation, and communication;
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, workforce effectiveness, and overall operational performance while adhering to purchasing, procurement, and spending authority requirements; and
- Supporting and influence a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace.
Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of facility operations, including pressurized storage systems, rail and marine loading and offloading operations, process equipment, and associated infrastructure.
- Thorough understanding of distributed control systems (DCS), facility process control, liquid and gas measurement principles, and key operational parameters.
- Demonstrated learning agility, adaptability, and commitment to developing people in a dynamic operating environment;
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and utilize P&IDs, engineering drawings, operating procedures, and technical documentation to support safe and reliable facility operations;
- Demonstrated front-line leadership experience within the energy, industrial, marine, transportation, or related sectors, including experience leading operational teams;
- Experience with operational risk management, permit-to-work systems, incident investigations, MOC, and regulatory compliance requirements;
- Experience administering training, competency assurance, progression models, proficiency evaluations, and employee development initiatives;
- Strong organizational, communication, planning, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate across functions;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and operational management systems;
- Experience in rail, marine terminal, LPG, bulk liquids handling, petrochemical, midstream, or related energy-sector operations is considered an asset;
- Experience supervising contractors and coordinating multidisciplinary work during maintenance outages, turnaround activities, or capital projects is considered an asset;
- Experience serving as an MFSO or working within regulated marine security programs is considered an asset;
- Ability to work a 6 days on / 6 days off rotation consisting of 12-hour shifts and support a 24/7 operational environment.; and
- Possess a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.
You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.
The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Prince Rupert, BC
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.

Pay Transparency Requirement: The annual salary for this position is $132,000 CAD to $147,000 CAD. Actual total compensation may differ based on candidate's qualifications and location.
