Overview:

PKM Canada Marine Terminal LP is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join the team at Vancouver Wharves in North Vancouver, B.C. This position reports to the Superintendent, Maintenance Planning and is a Monday to Friday, site-based role.

Located in one of the busiest port cities in North America, the Vancouver Wharves Terminal is one of the largest marine terminals on the West Coast, handling both liquid and bulk products including mineral concentrates, diesel, sulphur, and grain on behalf of customers.

The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler plays a critical role in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient terminal operations. This role is responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities in alignment with Pembina’s Facility Integrity, Maintenance Management (PMM), and Regulatory Compliance programs. The position supports a diverse and complex asset base, including heavy conveyors, pumps, electric motors, PLC systems, hydraulic power units, onsite pipelines with bulk fuel storage, dust collection systems, compressors, and mobile equipment. 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Develop and manage routine preventive maintenance (PM) strategies and work packages to support asset integrity and reliability;
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and external stakeholders to develop and optimize maintenance schedules;
  • Review and manage work order backlogs, ensuring work is prioritized and effectively integrated into short- and long-term plans;
  • Review SAP notifications to incorporate safety, production, and operational considerations into planning decisions;
  • Develop detailed job plans for both internal and contracted work, including required job hazard assessments (JHAs/FLHAs), resource requirements, and risk mitigation steps;
  • Apply the Identify/Plan/Schedule/Execute/Close/Analyze (IPSECA) model to support effective work management practices;
  • Review and action Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) reports to proactively identify and plan maintenance activities;
  • Ensure all maintenance, inspection, and repair activities are planned in compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements;
  • Conduct post-schedule reviews to confirm completion, address rescheduling needs, and capture continuous improvement opportunities;
  • Monitor and analyze maintenance KPIs, identifying trends and recommending improvements to reliability and performance;
  • Prepare and distribute regular backlog, maintenance, and reliability reports to key stakeholders;
  • Support maintenance planning through effective management of spares, inventory, and materials, including procurement of required inventory and non-inventory items;
  • Identify and support opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime;
  • Contribute to Pembina’s safety culture, including adherence to “Zero by Choice” and the Life Saving Rules;
  • Demonstrate Pembina’s values through safe, respectful, collaborative, and accountable ways of working; and
  • Demonstrate learning agility by adapting to evolving tools, systems, and processes in a dynamic operational environment. 

Qualifications:

  • Related, progressive experience in a mobile and/or fixed plant operation or maintenance environment;
  • Journeyman trades ticket (Instrumentation, Electrical, or Millwright) and/or Steam Ticket is preferred; Maintenance Planning certification is considered an asset;
  • Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) and MS Office is required; experience with other maintenance management systems (e.g., Maximo) may be considered;
  • Experience with scheduling tools such as Primavera or Prometheus is considered an asset;
  • SAP PM Master Data experience is considered an asset;
  • Experience supporting mobile maintenance environments is considered an asset;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams;
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Demonstrated learning agility with the ability to adapt to new tools, processes, and operational requirements;
  • Alignment with Pembina’s values and a commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace; and
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. 

 

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing, including testing for marijuana metabolites. A Driver’s Abstract will also be required.

The successful candidate must reside within 100 km of North Vancouver, British Columbia. 

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
