Overview:
PKM Canada Marine Terminal LP is currently recruiting for a Foreman to join the team. This position is a Maintenance Foreman for the Vancouver Wharves, located in North Vancouver reporting to the Superintendent of Maintenance or Operations.
Located in one of the busiest port cities in North America, the Vancouver Wharves’ terminal handles bulk cargo including mineral concentrates, diesel, Sulphur, and grain products on behalf of customers.
The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Foreman will be to supervise terminal longshore workers. Through strong communications and attention to superior service and quality standards, this role will contribute towards ensuring a safe and fulfilling workplace for longshore workers whilst maintaining environmentally conscious and cost-efficient operations at Vancouver Wharves.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

- Direct supervision of longshore workers;
- Model and promote learning agility by adapting quickly to change, encouraging experimentation, and continuously integrating new insights into team strategies and practices;
- Ensure all maintenance and operations support duties are completed safely, in compliance with Pembina’s procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;
- Support and provide appropriate feedback on performance management of workers;
- Complete and maintain documentation related to maintenance and safety;
- Fostering a team environment that values inclusion and diversity;
- Ensure all work is completed within Pembina Maintenance Management (PMM) guidelines;
- Provide leadership and assistance in emergency response when required; and
- Foster and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:

- Previous work experience and a track record of success in a similar role leading crews in a unionized, heavy industrialized environment;
- At a minimum, a BCTQ or IP ticket as a millwright, an industrial electrician or a heavy-duty mechanic is required;
- Experience maintaining mobile and fixed plant equipment, including bulk handling equipment will be considered an asset;
- Working knowledge of MS Office and a demonstrated aptitude working with other business-related computer programs and applications;
- Ability to motivate and direct others in a safe, efficient and respectful manner;
- Conscientious, highly motivated to accept responsibility, a strong and confident communicator, and the ability to develop effective relationships with workers and managers;
- A commitment to continuous leadership development, results oriented, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, leading change with an inclusive and growth mind set;
- Proven ability to demonstrate learning agility by rapidly adapting to changing business environments, embracing feedback, and continuously evolving leadership approaches to drive team and organizational success;
- An ability to work shift work, consisting of three shifts over the course of a 24-hour period, and
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.
Pay Transparency Requirement: The base salary range for this position is $144,000.00 CAD to $160,000.00 CAD. Actual total compensation may differ based on candidate's qualifications and location.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
