Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Illinois office is actively hiring for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the team. This position is based at the Aux Sable facility in Channahon, Illinois and reports to the Supervisor, Electrical Engineering in the Natural Gas Liquids Business Unit (NBU), part of Pembina’s Operations Business Division.
The Aux Sable facility operates one of the largest NGL extraction and fractionation facilities in North America. It processes natural gas as well as produces NGL products and then delivers these via the Alliance Pipeline.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in decision-making, where innovative ideas and creative solutions are highly valued and actioned upon. Your expertise and broad experience will be instrumental in supporting the engineering, reliability and operational electrical infrastructure for NGL production.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

- Develop engineering packages that meet all safety, technical, operational, commercial, maintenance, and quality requirements as outlined in Pembina’s specifications, standards, and practices;
- Seek cost-effective engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with industry codes, regulations, and standards;
- Coordinate with EPC consultants and contractors to execute design, equipment procurement, construction, and commissioning of site facilities;
- Review and approve engineering deliverables prepared by EPC consultants, contractors, and suppliers;
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines, Operations, Maintenance and other stakeholders;
- Continuously adapt to emerging technologies and evolving technical requirements by actively acquiring new skills, applying innovative solutions, and integrating feedback into daily problem-solving, and improving system performance;
- Develop scopes of work and conduct technical and commercial bid evaluations;
- Participate in the MOC and design review process;
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and start-up;
- Provide day-to-day technical support and lead complex troubleshooting activities; and
- Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:

- Related, relevant electrical engineering experience in large industrial facilities, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in refinery, gas plant, or petrochemical environments;
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university is required (registered PE a plus);
- Proven expertise in HV, MV, and LV engineering, construction, and commissioning of switchgear, MCC, VFDs, motors, transformers, ATS, UPS, and prefab substations;
- Strong understanding of power system design, including coordination, short circuit, motor starting, and arc flash studies;
- Experience with relay settings development (SEL, GE, Eaton);
- Experience with Heat Trace system design/programming (Thermon, Raychem);
- Knowledgeable in Control Systems, SCADA Systems, and networking design;
- Experience in Rockwell PLC programming is an asset;
- Experienced in NFPA 70/70E/70B/496/497, IEEE 1584, API 505, NETA, SKM;
- Demonstrated multidisciplinary collaboration to integrate insights into electrical engineering solutions;
- Demonstrated experience coordinating projects across engineering, field execution, commissioning teams;
- Demonstrated ability to set standards and achieve goals;
- Effective leader with strong organizational, problem-solving, presentation, and communication skills to clearly convey technical information;
- Self-motivated and adept at prioritizing competing tasks in a dynamic environment, building strong relationships quickly while instilling confidence; and
- Ability to rapidly acquire and apply new technical skills, tools, and frameworks in response to evolving project requirements and emerging technologies.
Pay Transparency Requirement: The base salary range for this position is $134,100.00 USD to $149,000.00 USD. Actual total compensation may differ based on candidate's qualifications and location. For a list of benefits offered, please visit: Working in the USA
