Overview:
Pembina U.S. Corporation is recruiting for a Maintenance Planner to be based at the Aux Sable NGL Extraction and Fractionation Facility located in Morris (Channahon), Illinois. This is one of the largest NGL extraction and fractionation facilities in North America, processing liquids-rich gas at the terminus of the Alliance Pipeline, in Channahon, Illinois. This position reports to the Supervisor, Maintenance in the Natural Gas Liquids Business Unit (NBU), part of Pembina’s Operations Division.
The Maintenance Planner amplifies equipment availability through effectively planning all maintenance work including day-to-day activities at the Channahon facility, multiple-day outages, and major shutdowns. This role maximizes the performance of maintenance resources by organizing work in an orderly, initiative-taking manner utilizing the appropriate schedule to minimize production downtime and build in equipment reliability.
The planning function focuses on fully defining the scope of work orders and staging along with ordering all necessary parts, and evaluating jobs to assure it can be executed in a safe manner and return equipment to design capacity timely and effectively. Additionally, the Maintenance Planner utilizes current systems to accurately account for the activities and costs of the maintenance department.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

- Development and review of detailed work plans for corrective and proactive maintenance tasks involving multiple trades;
- Creation of schedules based on work priority in conjunction with equipment and resource availability;
- Maintain Planning master data including task lists, maintenance plans and BOMs; Support Facility Integrity through planning of regulatory inspections;
- Ensure all work plans comply with all regulatory requirements and Pembina’s procedures and policies;
- Collaboratively interface with Safety, Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Integrity, Contractors, and Engineering to develop accurate work scopes, job plans and schedules;
- Develop work plans based off engineering packages and MOC documentation; Organizing Outage schedule requirements;
- Plan work for contractors in the future to align with the Pembina IPSECA process; Create detailed work packages that include P&ID’s, LOTO’s, blind lists, guidelines, bill of materials, plot plans, tools, equipment;
- Identify materials required for the execution of work and identify opportunities for improvement of material stocking strategies;
- Engagement and supporting the development of corrective action plans based on analysis of maintenance KPI’s;
- Maintain and manage an accurate planning backlog;
- Financial forecasting for maintenance activities through the year;
- Measurement and monitoring of key process indicators for maintenance;
- Engage in post execution reviews to support improvements to planning and scheduling; Collaborate closely with contractors to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, on budget and on schedule;
- Completing required risk assessments and reviews to mitigate safety risks associated with job plans;
- Compliance with Pembina’s Environmental Management system;
- Support and promote all Corporate SSER initiatives;
- Demonstrate learning agility by actively seeking feedback, adapting to new information quickly, and applying learnings to improve performance and deliver results in a dynamic environment;

Qualifications:

- 5+ years’ experience in plant maintenance or 10 years’ experience in plant operations;
- Planning/Scheduling experience in a refinery or petrochemical plant will be an asset; Preference will be given to those with trade experience;
- SAP Experience is considered an asset;
- A proven ability to collaborate with different departments and seek out information from subject matter experts;
- Consulting with stakeholders to thoroughly develop plans;
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities in a plant environment;
- A strong communicator with excellent organizational skills;
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, or processes and apply them effectively in a fast-paced environment;
- A valid driver’s license; and
- Legally authorized to work full time in the US without sponsorship.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate may be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check, Drug Screen (which includes testing for marijuana metabolites), and Fit for Duty Exam.
