Overview 
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Corporate Services Division is recruiting for an Advisor, Human Resources (US) to join the team. This position reports to the Supervisor, Advisory Services in the Human Resources Service Unit (HSU), part of Pembina’s Corporate Services Division. This position will be based at the Aux Sable NGL Extraction and Fractionation Facility located in Morris (Channahon), Illinois. In the U.S., Aux Sable is jointly owned by Enbridge, Pembina, and Williams Partners. Aux Sable facilities are operated by Pembina.  

 

This role is part of a larger team of HR Advisors and HR Business Partners and will work closely with other teams in HSU to deliver HR services in a variety of locations. Your success in this role will be built on a foundation of a broad base of generalist experience across all facets of HR: recruitment, benefits, policy application and employee relations (U.S.).

 

Summary of Responsibilities 

  • Work in close collaboration with Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) in servicing the US leadership and operations in meeting their Human Resource needs, anticipating business needs and identifying opportunities for continued improvement in services being provided;
  • Provide support, reporting and analysis for US Operations locations in collaboration with functional stakeholders;
  • Assist with implementing and follow-up actions related to company policies, initiatives, standards and guidelines;
  • Maintain excellent record-keeping, as an example ensuring employee files and reporting are accurate and audit-ready;
  • Responsible for transactional processing within Pembina systems ensuring information is submitted to the correct parties, platforms, and programs;
  • Create and deliver letters and employment changes (change letters, notifications, standard program emails, resignations, leaves of absence, disability management letters, etc.);
  • Onboarding and off boarding of employees and contract staff, including new hire orientation, benefit enrollment and renewal cycle, policy sign off, etc;
  • Administration and scheduling for Department of Transportation (DOT) random drug testing program;
  • Support HR and business needs with reorganizations, employee & labor relations, investigations, and performance management;
  • Contribute to a team environment that values inclusion & diversity; and 
  • Other duties or projects as assigned. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an HR Generalist role, preferably supported by a Diploma or Degree; Equivalent combination of skills experience will also be considered; 
  • Strong team player that works effectively with other HR team members to provide integrated HR solutions;
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot;
  • Knowledge of US employment legislation and experience in plant or field operations considered an asset;
  • Membership in SHRM considered an asset; 
  • Experienced with MS Office products,(Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel), SharePoint and other HR systems; SAP or other ERP system and SuccessFactors would be an asset;
  • Customer focused with a sense of urgency to manage requests;
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization; and
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
