Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Joffre Pump station office is actively hiring for General Labour Summer Student to join the team. This position reports to the Area Forman in the Prairie Sky District of the Transmission Pipeline Business Unit (TBU), part of Pembina’s AEGS (Alberta Ethane Gathering System) Pipeline in the Operations Division.
AEGS is a 1000km pipeline system that runs from the Edmonton area South to Medicine Hat area and to the Cochrane area, the hub being the Joffre area.
Pembina's Transmission Pipeline assets have developed through the strategic acquisition of key natural gas, ethane and condensate transportation infrastructure assets, positioned in some of the most prolific gas producing regions in western Canada and the United States. Pembina's Transmission Pipelines provide customers with access to premium markets primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts through long-haul pipelines.
Please note that this is a 4-month term; work schedule consists of five days per week, with 8-hour workdays.
The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Edmonton or Red Deer.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Perform role‑specific responsibilities such as driving between sites to complete inspections, perform painting and pressure washing of equipment, organize and clean work areas, capture photos, and operate drones as required;
- Support day‑to‑day work and learning activities related to the team or function, using tools such as (e.g. SAP, Microsoft Office, Copilot/ChatGPT, and other applicable systems);
- Support Pembina’s safety culture of “Zero by Choice” by caring for yourself and others and following Pembina’s Life Saving Rules at all times;
- Demonstrate Pembina’s values by working in a manner that is Safe, Trustworthy, Respectful, Collaborative, and Entrepreneurial, recognizing that how results are achieved matters; and
- Contribute to an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace by being gracious, kind, respectful, and working effectively with others.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver abstract;
- Ability to do moderate physical labour;
- Experience working out in the oil and gas industry and with equipment such as forklift-bobcat and small manual equipment such as weed-trimmers, considered an asset;
- Engineer in Training (EIT) considered an asset;
- Ability to commit to the full duration of the term and required schedule; and
- Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn in a structured environment, aligned with Pembina’s values and safety expectations.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and requires Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.
You will also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
