Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Wapiti Field, is recruiting for a Field Operator to join our team. This position reports to the Day Foreman, Operations in the Gas Services Business Unit (GBU), part of Pembina’s Facilities division.  The Gas Services Business Unit provides gas gathering, compression, shallow cut processing and sweet deep cut processing services for its customers, primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts. 

This is a Field Position, working an 8 On, 6 Off schedule. As a Field Operator you will be responsible for daily operations and maintenance of the Wapiti Field, including gathering lines, riser sites and compressor stations. 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

 

  • Start up, operate and shut down field assets with expertise;
  • Ensure all maintenance and operations duties are completed safely, in compliance with Pembina’s procedures, standards and regulatory requirements;
  • Ensure all safety documentation is completed for all personnel working in the field under operational care, including Safe Work Permits and Field Level Hazard Assessments;
  • Clearly document field operation in an electronic logbook, reporting monthly PM’s, and assigned inspections;
  • Lead and participate in site lockouts and planned maintenance activities;
  • Identify and troubleshoot field upsets, including compressor station troubleshooting;
  • Participate in an on-call rotation responding as required to equipment and/or operational problems;
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime on an as needed basis;
  • Monthly pigging operations for all pipelines;
  • Create notifications through our SAP PMM system, plan for and have equipment ready for maintenance according to the schedule, call out maintenance staff when required;
  • Look for cost savings opportunities and relay them to the team during operations;
  • Incident, Near Miss, Hazard ID reporting as required;
  • Keep safety tickets up to date and coordinate required training;  
  • Work with a safety conscious attitude;

Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience in gas plant or field operations;
  • Trade education is preferred and will be given preference; 
  • Continual dedication to on-going training and development;
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a flexible attitude to accommodate the variable duties of the position; 
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications; and
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.


The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Grande Prairie, AB.

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.  You will also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
