Overview:
Pembina’s Conventional Pipelines Business Unit (CBU) is currently seeking a Field Operator / Prover Truck Operator to join their team. This position is in Grande Prairie Alberta, and will report to the Day Foreman, Grande Prairie North.
Pembina's Conventional/Oilsands Business Units include a strategically positioned network of pipelines and related infrastructure, encompassing various hubs and terminals. This network facilitates the transportation of crude oil, condensate, and natural gas liquids across significant areas of Alberta, as well as parts of British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and North Dakota. Pembina ranks among Canada's largest operators of oil sands and heavy oil pipelines, and its Oil Sands business unit manages one of the most extensive merchant terminal operations in western Canada. These integrated assets enable us to offer long-term, dedicated transportation services to our customers.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

- Complete assignments safely, efficiently and in an environmentally conscious manner by observing generally accepted company and industry safety practices;
- Operate and maintain equipment and Company assets;
- Operate portable prover truck to maintain accurate metering integrity on both custody transfer and integrity LVP and HVP meters as required to meet company and industry standards;
- Assist on water draws to ensure that provers are measuring volumes accurately;
- Perform all operational duties when required on both LVP and HVP products;
- Maintain clean pipelines by launching, receiving, and repairing scrapers;
- Perform sampling of all products, test density, temperature, BS&W and RVP if required;
- Maintain and ensure that facilities and pipeline equipment are maintained to Corporate standard;
- Able to perform truck unloading duties if required to cover existing truck checker’s duties in his absence, ensuring the truck terminal operates within existing Pembina standards;
- Participate in and perform all duties required in compliance with Corporate SES standards, regulatory requirements and industry accepted best practices;
- Train and respond to any emergency response needs as required by Pembina or regulatory agencies; and
- Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Class 3 license with air endorsement (will consider sponsoring an individual to obtain this license);
- A High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Two plus years related experience (pipeline, gas plant, refinery, production, or drilling);
- Working knowledge of MS Office and other business-related computer programs and applications;
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; and
- Safety Courses: TDG, H2S Alive, First Aid would be an asset, but if incomplete, will be provided by the company for the successful candidate.
Working Conditions:
- Successful candidate will be required to routinely perform heavy physical lifts of equipment during daily activities (80 – 120lbs); and
- Perform work in all weather conditions – exposure to both high and low temperatures.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.
The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Grande Prairie, AB.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
