Overview:

 

Pembina is sourcing for an Operator to join the Fort St. John team. This position reports to the Fort St. John Day Foreman South in the Conventional Business Unit, (CBU), part of Pembina’s Pipelines Division. Pembina's conventional pipeline assets comprise a strategically located network of pipelines and related infrastructure including various hubs and terminals. This network transports crude oil, condensate and NGL across much of Alberta and parts of British Columbia, Saskatchewan and North Dakota.


Location Options: Gordondale/Spirit River (within 50 km of these 2 areas) 
Relocation support could be available.

 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

 

  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety;
  • Complete assignments safely, efficiently and in an environmentally conscious manner by observing company and industry safety practices;
  • Be responsible for maintaining daily pipeline operations including measurement concepts, product quality, facility inspections, pipeline integrity and pigging activities;
  • Perform and assist with pipeline maintenance activities;
  • Responding to pipeline system upsets, determining cause and resolve;
  • Liaise with the public and other industry related companies;
  • Maintain pump stations, block valve sites and company vehicles in clean orderly condition;
  • Supervise contractors, oversee routine and non-routine maintenance activities;
  • Occasionally expected to work out of town on project work and adapt to schedule changes easily;
  • Comfortable with an on-call rotation associated with the responsibilities;
  • Support and participate in a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace; 
  • Other duties as requested;
  • Days and Shifts, 10 hrs., 8 days on, 6 days off; and

Qualifications:

 

  • Interprovincial Journeyman Electrical / Instrumentation, Mechanic or Millwright or certification would be an asset but is not required;
  • 3+ years of related work experience, Operating experience preferred;
  • Hands-on experience with various computer applications, SAP experience considered an asset;
  • Collaborative, excellent organizational and detailed capabilities;
  • Ability to interface with Field, Engineering, and Technical Support personnel;
  • Ability to perform and direct safe and efficient operations in a high demand environment;
  • Agility in pivoting from competing priorities;
  • Flexible nature with the ability to produce with on-going demands;
  • Results oriented with a flexible & adaptable approach to change; and
  • Possess a valid driver’s license. 

 

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

 

The successful candidate must live 50km of reporting location or willingness to relocate.  
 

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
