Overview:

Pembina’s Pipeline Corporations Wapiti facility is recruiting for an Instrumentation Tradesperson to join the team. Reporting to the Day Foreman, Maintenance, within the Gas Services Business Unit, part of Pembina’s Operations Division.

 

The Gas Services Business Unit provides fee for service gas and liquids processing. As the largest third party gas processor in the WCSB, GBU is positioned at the front of Pembina’s value chain, enabling integrated solutions from wellhead to market.

 

As an Instrumentation Tradesperson, you will contribute to Pembina’s success by demonstrating technical excellence, learning agility, and a strong commitment to our values. You will also bring a strong technical foundation, a collaborative mindset, and a dedication to continuous learning, supporting safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations.

 

The work schedule for this role is 10‑hour shifts, Monday to Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to safety and act as a safety leader in the execution of all work;
  • Review, understand, and consistently apply Pembina’s safety, operational, and maintenance standards;
  • Perform troubleshooting, preventative, routine, and corrective maintenance on facility instrumentation, including pneumatic and electronic flow, pressure, and temperature transmitters, analyzers, custody transfer, and safety equipment;
  • Utilize SAP (CMMS) to plan work, document repairs, create and complete work orders, enter material requests, and attach required maintenance documentation;
  • Maintain equipment in accordance with Pembina’s preventative maintenance programs;
  • Support operations through plant optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance coordination;
  • Provide technical input and support for new projects, design changes, and facility improvements;
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, start‑up, and maintenance of new equipment;
  • Provide leadership in the safe execution of scheduled work and during on-call responses;
  • Review existing tasks and procedures to ensure they remain accurate, current, and effective;
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and continuous improvement;
  • Participate in assigned on-call rotations and respond to trouble calls in a timely manner; and
  • Actively contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Provincial Instrumentation Journeyperson Certificate;
  • Relevant and related industry experience;
  • Strong understanding of gas and liquid measurement;
  • Solid knowledge of facility and pipeline operations and applicable industry standards and regulations;
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot instrumentation related issues;
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings;
  • Working knowledge of valves, transmitters, controllers, and analyzers;
  • Experience with PLC, DCS, or SCADA systems and their integration for effective troubleshooting and repair;
  • Previous experience with SAP Maintenance Module is highly desirable;
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Positive, collaborative mindset with strong organizational and time management skills;
  • The successful candidate must live within 100 km’s of the Wapiti facility, and have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License; and
  • Required safety certifications, including TDG, H2S Alive, and First Aid.

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
