General Labour Summer Student

Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Resthaven facility is actively hiring a General Labour Student to join the team.  This position reports to the Day Foreman, Operations in the Gas Service Business Unit (GBU), part of Pembina’s Operations Division.  

The Gas Services Business Unit (GBU) provides fee‑for‑service gas and liquids processing across key locations in Western Canada. As the largest third‑party gas processor in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, GBU plays a critical role at the front of the energy value chain, enabling integrated solutions from the wellhead to market.

The General Labor Student will support day‑to‑day site activities, including housekeeping, basic operational tasks, painting, maintenance, and pressure washing. This is a camp‑based position at the Resthaven facility, starting May 19th, until August 28th, working a 7‑days‑on, 7‑days‑off schedule with straight day shifts and meals provided. Transportation is arranged from Grande Cache, Hinton, or Grande Prairie, with occasional driving required. Skid steer and UTV certifications are preferred but can be obtained prior to starting the role.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

• Perform general labour and site support duties, including housekeeping and organization, basic operational tasks, painting, site maintenance, and pressure washing, while following safety and operational guidelines;
• Support day‑to‑day site operations activities by working closely with the team and using applicable tools and equipment such as basic hand tools, pressure‑washing equipment, site vehicles or equipment (where trained), and standard workplace tools including Microsoft Office;
• Support Pembina’s safety culture of “Zero by Choice” by caring for yourself and others and following Pembina’s Life Saving Rules at all times;

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in general labour, maintenance, or industrial environments;
• Familiarity with site safety practices; and certifications such as skid steer or UTV operation would be an asset;  
• A willingness to obtain required certifications prior to start is also considered an asset;
• Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary or trades program) and returning to school following the end of the work term;
• Ability to commit to the full duration of the term and required schedule;
• Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn in a structured environment, aligned with Pembina’s values and safety expectations; and
• A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driver’s abstract is required.

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and requires Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.
