Overview:
Pembina Pipeline’s Liquids, Transportation and Fractionation asset team is recruiting for two Operators to join the Grande Prairie team. Reporting to the Day Foreman, Grande Prairie Area, this role is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation and maintenance of pipeline infrastructure supporting the transportation of crude oil, condensate and NGL across northwestern Alberta and surrounding regions.
This role supports a geographically diverse asset base and may require travel between sites as operational needs demand. And operates on a rotating day shift schedule and includes participation in an on-call rotation. As Pembina continues to advance its strategic priorities across safety, reliability and operational excellence, this role contributes directly by ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective field operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate Pembina’s values by prioritizing safety, collaborating effectively, and contributing to an inclusive and high-performance work environment.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Support Pembina’s safety culture of “Zero by Choice” and adherence to the Life Saving Rules;
- Complete assignments safely, efficiently and in an environmentally responsible manner in accordance with company and industry standards;
- Maintain daily pipeline operations including measurement, product quality, facility inspections, pipeline integrity and pigging activities;
- Perform and assist with routine and non-routine pipeline maintenance activities;
- Respond to pipeline system upsets, identify root causes and implement effective solutions;
- Travel between sites and occasionally work out of town to support operational and project requirements;
- Supervise contractors and oversee maintenance activities as required;
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors, the public and industry partners;
- Maintain pump stations, block valve sites, and company vehicles in a clean and orderly condition;
- Support and contribute to Pembina’s culture by prioritizing safety, fostering inclusion and collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders;
- Demonstrate learning agility by actively seeking feedback, adapting to new information quickly, and applying learnings to improve performance and deliver results in a dynamic operating environment;
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Experienced, adaptable and team-oriented individual with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence;
- Related, relevant industry experience, with operating experience preferred;
- Journeyman Electrical / Instrumentation, Mechanic or Millwright certification considered an asset;
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of instrumentation and electrical systems considered an asset;
- Ability to perform and support safe and efficient field operations in a high-demand environment;
- Proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative and accountable team environment;
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies and operational processes and apply those learnings effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment;
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing operational demands;
Hands-on experience with computer applications; SAP experience considered an asset; - Ability to interface effectively with Operations, Engineering and Technical Support teams;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
- Valid driver’s license.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and requires Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing;
The successful candidate must reside within 100 km of the reporting location.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
