Overview

Pembina US Corporation’s Cochin Pipeline is recruiting a Supervisor, Operations to join the team. This position will be responsible for the Goshen Area which spans from Riga, MI to Clinton, IA.  The position reports to the Manager, US Pipeline District in our Transmission Pipelines Business Unit, part of Pembina’s Pipeline Division. Pembina's transmission pipeline assets have developed through the strategic acquisition of key natural gas and refined product transportation infrastructure assets.  Pembina's transmission pipelines provide customers with access to premium markets primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts through long-haul pipelines. Depending on candidate selected work location could either be Goshen, IN or Herscher, IL. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Steward and continue to promote a culture of inclusion and safety in the Goshen area, which includes the Goshen, IN maintenance center and Kankakee Tank Terminal located near Hersher, IL;
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, feedback, and coaching that support accessible opportunities for employees;
  • Accountability and responsibility for the management for all financial matters including OPEX budget and Capital spending including identifying financial efficiency improvements;
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance with all appropriate federal and state regulatory bodies;
  • Incumbent has frequent contact with the Department of Transportation, other regulatory bodies, vendors, contractors, customers, land owners, and operational personnel of other pipelines. Strong emphasis on public awareness;
  • Participate as needed/required in DOT audits for all Cochin Pipeline;
  • Ensure levels of preventative maintenance on all pipeline equipment is acceptable and that required documentation related to preventative maintenance and safety is maintained;
  • Develop and recommend changes to procedures, processes and/or equipment to improve efficiency and safety of pipeline systems;
  • Ensure that safety incidents are responded to in a timely fashion and debrief to ensure learnings are recognized and implemented;
  • Provide emergency response to equipment and pipeline failures to ensure company emergency operating procedures are followed;
  • Ensure all metering, product quality and pipeline integrity processes are completed;
  • Ensure the Management of Change (MOC) process is followed to completion;
  • Reviewing staff resource issues and looking for efficiencies as well as working with the District Manager on resource plans for the district; and 
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

 

Job Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related experience within a pipeline operations environment including experience as a Foreman or in equivalent leadership capacity;
  • High school diploma. Preference is given to those with a technical diploma and/or higher education;
  • A commitment to continuous leadership development, be results oriented, with excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, and leads change with an inclusive and growth mind set;
  • Effective engagement skills including a proven ability to interface positively with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve emergent challenges with good working knowledge of regulatory and environmental codes;
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and demonstrated aptitude working with other business-related computer programs and applications; working knowledge of SAP is beneficial;
  • Valid Driver’s License; and
  • Must be legally authorized to work full time in the US without sponsorship.
