Pembina US Corporation’s Cochin Pipeline is recruiting an Electrician, Operations to join the team. This position will support the Goshen Area which spans from Riga, MI to Clinton, IA and will report to the Supervisor, Operations in the Transmission Business Unit, part of Pembina’s Pipeline Division.  Pembina's transmission pipeline assets have developed through the strategic acquisition of key natural gas and refined product transportation infrastructure assets.  Pembina's transmission pipelines provide customers with access to premium markets primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts through long-haul pipelines. Depending on candidate selected work location could either be Goshen, IN or Herscher, IL.


Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure all maintenance and operations duties are completed safely, in compliance with Pembina’s procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;
  • Routine pipeline operations and maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repair of pump station electronics, electrical, and mechanical equipment;
  • Locating and marking Cochin facilities per Pembina’s Damage Prevention Program and One-Call procedures prior to and during excavation;
  • Provide oversight and inspection to ensure asset protection and compliance with company procedures of excavation activities near pipeline facilities;
  • Participate in an on-call rotation responding as required to equipment and/or operational problems;
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime on an as needed basis;
  • Maintain safe and reliable operations of the facility;
  • Able to work in teams effectively and encourage a positive work environment;
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots and hearing protection);
  • Communicates safety issues to mangers and Safety Department;
  • Effective decision-making skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills;
  • Contribute to a team environment that values inclusion & diversity;
  • A willingness and desire to work outdoors; and
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years related work experience, oil and gas industry preferred;
  • Journeyman Electrical / Instrumentation or certification equivalent preferred;
  • PLC programming experience, together with a familiarity of a variety of instrumentation equipment;
  • Strong mechanical skills a plus;
  • Hands-on experience with various computer applications;
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work well in a team coupled with a proven track record of success of positively interfacing with Field, Engineering, and Technical Support personnel;
  • Ability to perform and direct safe and efficient operations in a fast-paced environment;
  • Results oriented with a flexible & adaptable approach to change;
  • Possess a valid driver’s license; and
  • Must be legally authorized to work full time in the US without sponsorship.
