Overview:
Pembina is actively hiring for a 12-month Term Operator to join the team in the Drayton Valley Office. The Position reports to an Area Foreman in Drayton Valley and is responsible for providing technical support on maintenance and commissioning of old and new equipment. The Operator position is geared towards those who are hardworking, self-motivated, and eager to be part of a strong operations team.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

- Assist with installation, commissioning, start up, and maintenance of new equipment;
- Responsible for after-hours Call Outs responding to equipment and/or operational problems;
- Supervise contractors;
- Perform Gathering of LVP and HVP samples for Spot Sampling and Regularly Scheduled work orders;
- Perform Sample Analysis in the dedicated Field Lab. Ensure cleanliness of the field lab and ensure inventory of equipment/consumables are always sufficient;
- Ensure Mid-Month and Month-End samples have been collected and ensure safe delivery and return of the samples to and from third-party Labs;
- Perform Month-End BS&W Validations at the dedicated Field Lab;
- Communication with Area foreman for Product Quality Violations and Production Outages;
- Perform equipment and equipment system inspections and routine maintenance of facility equipment;
- Input work orders, isolations, lockouts, and safe work permits for the facilitation of operations and maintenance activities;
- Operate local pumps, valves, pipeline pigging systems and other facility equipment;
- Assist on new projects and commissioning activities;
- Assist and respond to Alberta one calls in the Drayton Valley area;
- Provide technical support on new projects and management of change (MOC);
- Submit Notifications for required maintenance repairs or non-routine sampling activities;
- Perform product quality and measurement related tasks such as Product sampling and meter proving; and
- Actively participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
- Industry experience in pipeline field operations is considered an asset, with a strong ability to quickly learn operational processes and field practices;
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with demonstrated learning agility and openness to developing new technical skills;
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications, or the ability to rapidly learn and apply new systems and tools;
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to absorb information quickly and apply feedback effectively;
- Experience with SAP is an asset; candidates with the aptitude and motivation to learn SAP quickly are encouraged to apply;
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License; and
- Safety certifications (TDG, H2S Alive, First Aid) are an asset; comprehensive training will be provided to successful candidates who are eager and able to learn.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. You will also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

The successful candidate must live within 50 km of Drayton Valley, AB.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
