Overview

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for a Technologist, Petroleum Quality. This position reports to the Supervisor, Petroleum Quality within the Product Quality and Measurement (PQM) department of Pembina’s Corporate Technical Services Unit (TSU).


As a key contributor of the PQM team, the Technologist, Petroleum Quality will be responsible for stewarding Pembina’s petroleum quality management programs at Pembina assets.

Responsibilities

The primary areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Provide business support on petroleum quality related topics;
  • Develop and maintain Pembina’s petroleum quality standards;
  • Support the design and operation of quality management equipment at Pembina assets;
  • Provide businesses with effective day to day support particularly with quality management programs of low vapor pressure products (LVP);
  • Minimize quality excursions to ensure Pembina meets contractual and regulatory obligations while retaining value for all stakeholders;
  • Manage, execute, and provide feedback to stakeholder associated with Pembina’s commodity acceptance program to ensure products comply with connected deliveries; 
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on quality standards, procedures, and techniques; and
  • Contribute to a team environment that values equity, inclusion, and diversity.

Job Qualifications

  • Chemical/Petroleum Technologist, Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years’ experience;
  • Direct working knowledge with petroleum sampling systems and analyzers considered an asset;
  • Working knowledge and understanding of petroleum products, specifications and Pipeline and Terminal operations or Logistics considered an asset;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS applications (Word, PowerPo;int, Power BI);
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate interaction and cooperation with customers, management, other technical disciplines, and field operations personnel;
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical aptitude, resourcefulness and self-motivated;
  • Energetic, resilient, collaborative while maintaining the highest standard of integrity; and
  • Must have a valid class 5 license.
