Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is currently recruiting an OEMS Senior Advisor to join the team in Calgary. Reporting to the Manager, Insurance & OEMS, this position will be an integral part of Pembina's Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) team, which is part of the External Affairs Division (EAD).

 

The External Affairs Service Unit brings together Safety, Land, Legal, Communications, Indigenous Engagement, Environment, Regulatory, Community Investment and Government Relations to effectively mobilize project support, while ensuring proper governance and controls are in place. The Safety Service Unit is dedicated to leading the enterprise-wide occupational health and safety, process safety, emergency management, and Operations Excellence Management System governance that promotes a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, contractors, and communities.

 

The Senior Advisor is responsible supporting Pembina’s Programs, Business Units and Service Units in implementing and maturing Pembina’s OEMS by leading team priorities and efforts around OEMS engagement, governance, assessments and reporting and process improvements.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Support the implementation, governance and continual improvement of Pembina’s OEMS;
  • Contribute to the development of management dashboards to enhance the monitoring and trending capabilities of key operating metrics, key risk indicators;
  • Monitor, evaluate and maintain knowledge of industry standards and recommended practices for management systems. Provide recommendations for improvements to bring leading practices to Pembina;
  • Support effective governance processes for OEMS, including the setting of goals, objectives and targets, performance reporting and management review;
  • Collaborate with Element owners to prioritize and action system level improvement opportunities;
  • Develop and deliver OEMS content, training, communication and awareness materials;
  • Develop, oversee and review OEMS assessments and reports to assure quality, clarity and accuracy;

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in the development, implementation and management of operational excellence management systems;
  • 10+ years working experience within energy, utilities, natural resources, midstream, or transportation industries;
  • Previous progressive experience in various company processes, combined with strong experience in process improvement and risk mitigation analysis;
  • Demonstrated team and individual leadership abilities whether in a formal or informal leadership position;
  • Highly motivated, possess a real passion for mitigating risk and aptitude to leverage problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills to generate creative solutions;
  • Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement methodologies; 
  • Strong analytical skills, proficient with Microsoft Office applications;
  • Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment where priorities change; and
  • Reliable with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
