Overview
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for a Sr. Analyst, Performance and Operational Excellence to join the team. This position reports to the Manager, Performance and Operational Excellence in the Human Resources Service unit (HSU), part of Pembina’s Corporate Services Division.

 

The Sr. Analyst, Performance and Operational Excellence will support the Human resources team at Pembina with managing continuous improvement and optimization for HSU by reporting on operational health and determining areas of inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.  In this role, you will support the team’s effort of providing exceptional customer service by interpreting volumetrics to glean operational insights, manage continuous improvement and an opportunity pipeline, ensuring knowledge base artifacts and policies & standards are up-to-date, support HR’s governance model, as well as stewarding internal and external audit requests.  

 

Summary of Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Manage governance for HR Function by ensuring adherence to processes, escalation protocols, etc.; 
  • Support with implementing and enforcing HR operational excellence across HR through the development of HR performance reports Corporately;
  • Create and manage reporting for overall HSU Operations operational health and determine areas of inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement; 
  • Manage continuous improvement and optimization pipeline for HSU Operations; 
  • Support recommendations related to customer service components of contact center (hours, functionalities, call handling, etc.);
  • Support in gathering insights related to volumetrics related to Employee Services Center, including staffing, programs, and activities; 
  • Identify new service requirements and opportunities to rationalize, consolidate, and standardize existing services based on insights and analysis;  
  • Ensure that process maps and standard operating procedures are kept up to date; 
  • Identify opportunities for new policy/standards and work with HR sub-departments (People Programs and Strategic Partners) to develop the new HR Corporate Policy and standards while acting as project manager to engage, solicit and finalize new policy or standard;
  • Work with HR sub-departments to maintain and ensure existing HR Corporate Policies and standards are up-to-date;
  • Work with HR sub-departments to support Internal and External Audit requests by acting as project manager to engage, solicit and finalize deliverable for requesting party;
  • Support vendor management in terms of performance and managing oversight across all third party vendors health (e.g. count of all third party vendors, total cost allocations, performance metrics and provide recommendations/insights where appropriate). Vendors may include but are not limited to payroll providers, benefits providers, etc.;
  • Manage portfolio of the improvement initiatives; 
  • Perform organizational and data analytics, and quality management to enable continuous improvement; 
  • Coordinate internal HR communications and training programs in conjunction with optimization activities and programs, and reporting; 
  • Provide insights on performance metrics & SLA’s to ensure the cost efficient delivery of HR operations, and make recommendations based on trends and analytics;
  • Work with HR sub-departments to identify knowledge gaps and inquiry / process ‘hot spots’ and maintain knowledge article development roadmap;
  • Work with HR sub-departments to maintain HR internal processes, job aids, SOPs, etc. within the Knowledge Management portal;
  • Coordinate regular updates to published knowledge articles to ensure they are all up-to-date;
  • Support operational excellence for Employee Services Center by providing overarching HR Ops performance insights and recommendations where applicable; and 
  • Foster a team environment that values inclusion and diversity.  

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience (HR or other industry) with a  proven track record of delivering and improving value to customers;
  • A bachelor degree or equivalent work expertise;
  • Lean Six Sigma certification would be preferred but not required;
  • Understand continuous improvement and manage subsequent changes to improved business processes, including establishment of metrics, KPI’s;
  • Generate and distribute reports and presentations to all levels within the organization;
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to: identify value opportunities, address process issues affecting productivity, quality, etc.;
  • The candidate must be technically proficient in Excel, Power Point, Visio, ServiceNow and SuccessFactors 
  • The position entails critical thinking, flexibility and adaptability;
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and analytical skills with a proven track record of advising  management regarding operational excellence;
  • Able to multitask effectively, with strong time-management skills, and the ability to accelerate in a very fast-paced, changing environment;
  • Experience with Third party vendors (benefits providers, payroll providers) would be of benefit; and
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications, interpersonal and organizational skills.
