Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Sherwood Park or Calgary office is actively recruiting for a Senior SCADA Analyst to join the SCADA Systems team focusing on OT Applications. This position reports to the Manager, SCADA Systems in the Information Services Unit (ISU), part of Pembina’s Corporate Services Division. This position will be accountable for the technical leadership of SCADA’s OT application portfolio.

This position can be located in Calgary or Sherwood Park, AB.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

- Provide technical guidance to ensure 100% uptime for the SCADA systems required for the efficient and safe monitoring and control of all Pembina operated pipeline systems;
- Investigate and recommend new software and technology for SCADA and Leak Detection, that provides financial or operational/safety benefits for Pembina;
- Contribute to the creation of SCADA strategies and roadmaps, encompassing lifecycle and sustainment planning;
- Serve as a technical leader for SCADA software replacement and upgrade projects. Provide expert guidance and direction, ensuring successful project execution;
- Support integration efforts for pipeline acquisitions impacting SCADA software;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design and develop custom fit-for-purpose applications as needed;
- Monitor and administer SCADA software, ensuring performance and addressing failures;
- Develop standards and maintain detailed, comprehensive drawings and documentation for all SCADA OT applications;
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and document problems encountered with the SCADA system platform;
- Offer support and direction to co-workers and service providers to ensure safe work practices, while mentoring junior staff;
- Collaborate with Pembina’s SCADA and Leak Detection teams, control center staff, engineering groups, other ISU teams, and field operations personnel;
- Flexibility to provide after-hours support work will be necessary, given that our pipelines are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; and
- Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience with AVEVA Enterprise SCADA, with a proven track record in supporting backend software and integrating systems. This includes designing and implementing interfaces for seamless interoperability and efficient data exchange;
- Diploma or degree in computer science, software/computer engineering, or related field;
- Demonstrable experience involving progressively more challenging responsibilities in SCADA, Leak Detection, AVEVA PI, and/or associated technologies;
- Experience with OPC communication standard;
- Experience with VB.Net, C#, Power Shell, and Transact-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server);
- Experience with MQTT and Sparkplug B is an asset;
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license; and
- Depending on relevant experience and qualifications, the candidate may be offered a more suitable position.
You may be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.
The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Calgary or Sherwood Park Offices.
Pembina’s Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Fridays.
