Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is actively hiring for 2 positions, Sr Advisor, & Advisor Regulatory Operations to join the team. Reporting to the Manager, Regulatory & Environment in the External Affairs department, these roles contribute to the effective mobilization of project support while ensuring appropriate governance and controls are in place.
The Advisor Regulatory Operations supports regulatory compliance by applying, established requirements and providing operational guidance within a defined scope. The Sr Advisor, Regulatory Operations is an experienced regulatory professional who provides guidance on complex matters, applies sound judgment in resolving issues, and supports risk management, decision‑making within a broader operational scope.
The External Affairs Unit brings together Safety, Land, Legal, Communications, Indigenous Engagement, Environment, Regulatory, Community Investment and Government Relations.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

- Works with Operations and Technical program owners to manage regulatory agency audits, inspections, and information requests;
- Prepare, submit, and manage filings, reports, and responses to information requests from regulatory agencies such as the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER), British Columbia Energy Regulator (BCER), and the Canada Energy Regulator (CER);
- Ensure effective monitoring and management of regulatory change through establishment and maintenance of the Corporation’s regulatory obligations register;
- Maintain corporate registration filings (officers and entities) and prepare compliant submissions to regulatory agencies in accordance with filing requirements, information requests, and approval conditions;
- Provide regulatory support to Operations teams during incidents and other operational events, as needed;
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve compliance management, internal reporting processes, and corporate regulatory standards;
- Support Asset Operations with regulatory planning and permitting activities related to asset decommissioning and abandonment;
- Demonstrate learning agility by actively seeking feedback, adapting to new information quickly, and applying learnings to improve performance and deliver results in a dynamic environment; and
- Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, Engineering, or a related discipline;
- 5+ years of progressive experience in environmental, energy, and/or regulatory roles;
- Working knowledge of the energy industries regulatory and environmental issues, including pipeline and midstream operations;
- Strong understanding of Canadian regulatory requirements and processes for pipelines and facilities, including the AER, BCER, and CER;
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with external energy regulators and internal stakeholders across Pembina, valuing diverse perspectives;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non‑technical audiences;
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to gather, interpret, and analyze data to inform decisions;
- A collaborative, team‑oriented professional with strong initiative and accountability, who applies systems thinking, analytical insight, and problem‑solving skills to drive process improvement; and
- Demonstrates the ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, or processes and apply them effectively in a fast-paced environment.
