Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is seeking an experienced Production Accountant to join the team. This position reports to the Supervisor, Production Accounting, in the Accounting & Corporate Controller department, part of Pembina’s Financial Services division.
The Accounting team provides financial reporting and accounting leadership across Pembina and is responsible for the preparation and compilation of Pembina's consolidated financial statements, notes, MD&A, and operational highlights. The team is also responsible for establishing and ensuring adherence to accounting policies, review and analysis of new accounting standards and interpretations, accounting for capital assets, legal entity reporting and regulatory compliance and maintaining SAP FI/CO data integrity.
As the Production Accountant, you will partner closely with Operations, Measurement, Commercial Services, Financial Accounting, and external customers to ensure production volumes and related reporting are accurate, auditable, and compliant. You will possess strong knowledge of production accounting, gas plant allocations, measurement, regulatory reporting, and customer invoicing, while building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
Production Accounting & Allocations
- Perform full-cycle production accounting activities for assigned gas gathering and processing assets;
- Analyze and validate production, disposition, and sales volumes for accuracy and completeness;
- Prepare and review gas plant allocations and component balances while ensuring production accounting records are accurate, complete, supportable, and audit-ready;
- Investigate and resolve volumetric discrepancies, imbalances, and allocation issues; and
- Interpret schematics, contracts, and asset configurations to support accurate accounting and reporting.

Revenue & Contract Administration
- Review and administer commercial, processing, and gathering agreements, including Take-or-Pay contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations;
- Calculate and process gathering, processing, and related service fees while ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements;
- Support month-end activities, including accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, and the timely resolution of Accounts Receivable inquiries and disputes; and
- Maintain records related to contractual commitments, take-or-pay provisions, and other commercial obligations as required.
Regulatory Compliance & Audit Support
- Prepare and review monthly regulatory reports and submissions, and respond to customer, joint venture, and regulatory audit requests;
- Ensure compliance with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, Enhanced Production Audit Program requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements; and
- Support Gas Cost Allowance reporting and related compliance activities as required.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Develop strong working relationships with Operations, Measurement, Commercial Services, and Financial Accounting teams;
- Collaborate on business initiatives, process improvements, system implementations, and optimization projects;
- Provide production and volumetric reporting to support operational and commercial decision making;
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, controls, and production accounting processes;
- Participate in system testing, enhancements, and configuration activities; and
- Support a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required;
- Additional qualifications such as Canadian Association or Petroleum Production Accounting (CAPPA) certification or a professional accounting designation are considered an asset;
- 5+ years of progressive Production Accounting experience or experience in a related field; midstream industry experience considered an asset;
- Strong technical expertise in gas plant allocations, measurement, schematic interpretation, and regulatory reporting requirements, combined with the financial and business acumen to support accurate financial reporting and business decisions;
- Working knowledge of The Information Processing System (TIPS) production accounting software is preferred, along with SAP experience is considered an asset;
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a proven ability to deliver accurate, timely results while thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-driven environment;
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization, effectively influence others, and actively listen to understand and advance ideas;
- A team player with a strong work ethic, high level of self-confidence and excellent time management skills; and
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, with experience using AI tools to enhance productivity and efficiency is considered an asset.
