Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is recruiting for a 16-month internship role to join the Logistics Area team in Calgary, starting in May 2025. This position reports to the Supervisor, Logistics in the Transmission Pipeline Unit (TBU), part of Pembina’s Operations Business Division.


Pembina's transmission pipeline assets have developed through the strategic acquisition of key natural gas, ethane and condensate transportation infrastructure assets, positioned in some of the most prolific gas producing regions in western Canada and the United States. Pembina's transmission pipelines provide customers with access to premium markets primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts through long-haul pipelines.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Assist the Logistics team in day-to-day scheduling and confirming gas movement on one of Pembina’s major pipeline systems. The pipe is scheduled 5 times per day, 365 days per year
  • Collaborate with Commercial and IS team members and stakeholders on multiple projects;
    • Gather and document requirements for solutions to logistics and operational challenges;
    • Assist in process documentation for current and future workflows; and
    • Support the preparation of training materials and documentation.
  • Execute gas scheduling processes to ensure consistent and accurate scheduling of the pipeline;
  • Analyze the pipeline nomination process for accuracy, reasonability, and pipeline capacity;
  • Provide customer service: support customers in accessing transportation and hub services for execution of transactions including nominations, imbalance trading and pre-determined allocation (PDA) entry; providing technical advice and problem solving for customers, resolving complaints and requests; and
  • Contribute to an environment that promotes inclusion and diversity.

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a university co-operative education program;
  • Currently a third-year Business, Science, or Engineering student or higher;
  • Energetic, positive, and motivated;
  • Ability to work well with others and thrive in a team-based, open space workplace;
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and proven ability to multi-task while meeting strict deadlines;
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage, negotiate and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and at all levels within an organization;
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem solving, critical thinking skills, sound judgment and decision-making skills with demonstrated ability to be pro-active in identifying potential issues and providing solutions;
  • Possesses a strong work ethic and the ability to generate superior results in a busy, dynamic and deadline driven environment;
  • Strong Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills;
  • Experience with complex commercial software systems, Power BI and/or Microsoft Power Automate would be an asset;
  • Must be able to work occasional modified shift schedules which includes evenings, weekends and holidays; and
  • Willingness to commit to a 16-month fixed term contract.

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
