Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary Office is recruiting for a Indirect Tax Analyst to join the team. This position reports to the Manager, Indirect Tax, in the Tax Service Unit, part of Pembina’s Financial Services Division.
The Tax Service Unit contributes to the development of long-term global growth strategies acting as proactive partners who are sought out for our expertise when making business decisions. By effectively identifying, assessing, communicating, and managing tax risks and opportunities, the Tax team is a trusted business partner creating and protecting shareholder value in a globally compliant tax framework. The Indirect Tax Analyst will be responsible for the preparation of indirect tax returns and accounting pertaining to the business of the Company, as well as assistance in other tax related duties for Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s business entities.
The Financial Services Unit supports the company's major decisions through an in-depth understanding of financial health in the short term and long term, credit and market risk, weighted average cost of capital, and capital markets opportunities to pursue growth (considering financing strategy, M&A opportunities, etc.). The team is responsible to understand the current state as well as the future state across a variety of scenarios, and their potential impact to external stakeholders (such as shareholders and rating agencies).
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Work within a team to complete the preparation of Indirect Tax and customs related filings in approximately 30 jurisdictions within the US, Canada and internationally;
- Work with the Manager to assist with a variety of Indirect Tax and customs related audits including GST, PST, Carbon Tax, Fuel Tax and others as they arise;
- Ability to quickly and independently manage a high volume of transactional data and independently meet a variety of deadlines in a short period of time;
- Responsible for reconciling Indirect Tax accounts as required;
- Responsible for ensuring that online accounts are properly maintained such that company information is up to date and accounts are all in good standing;

Qualifications:
- A University Degree in Business or related field;
- Completion of a professional designation (CGA, CMA, CPA) or be working toward one;
- Indirect Tax related experience in a CPA firm or industry;
- Strong attention to detail, organized and thorough, with a desire for continuous improvement;
- Good project management skills with a keen business sense and a focus on adding value to the organization;
- Highly motivated/energetic individual with the ability to take responsibility for initiatives and overcome obstacles;
- ERP/SAP experience is preferred along with strong Excel skills;
- A great attitude.
Pembina’s Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Fridays depending on business needs.
