Overview:
The IS Business Analyst will be part of the Information Systems Unit (ISU) within the Business Enablement team that plays a crucial role in translating the gap between IT and the business. The role is instrumental in strategic partnering, facilitating transparent and data-led approaches to problem-solving, and connecting advisory, training, and enablement services. Their responsibility is to understand business needs, assess the impact of changes, capture, analyze & document requirements, and ensure that those requirements are delivered by IS while supporting the business through the implementation process.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Building strategic partnerships with stakeholders across the business to understand their needs, challenges, and objectives.
- Facilitating transparent, data-led approaches to problem-solving by analyzing and documenting the structure of business processes, systems, and strategies.
- Connecting advisory, training, and enablement services to drive business transformation and improvement.
- Researching and identifying technology solutions that can effectively address the identified business needs and support strategic initiatives.
- Evaluating potential technology solutions in terms of their functionality, cost-effectiveness, scalability, and compatibility with existing systems.
- Collaborating with IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure the technology solution is effectively implemented and meets the business needs.
- Applying principles and practices of the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK).
- Utilizing business analysis techniques and tools to effectively capture and define business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data to draw meaningful business insights.
Qualifications:
- This role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as a good understanding of both business processes and IT systems;
- The role demands the ability to work in a team, manage multiple tasks, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment;
- Experience in heavy industries (Oil & Gas – E&P/Midstream/Refining, Mining, or Utilities) is preferred.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
