Overview:
Pembina Gas Infrastructure (PGI) is a premier gas processing entity in Western Canada with a combined capacity of 5 billion cubic feet per day. A partnership between Pembina and KKR, PGI is strategically positioned to serve customers throughout the Montney and Duvernay trends from central Alberta to northeast British Columbia.
Pembina Gas Infrastructure (PGI) is actively hiring an Engineering Intern in the Calgary corporate office location. Reporting to the Manager, Operations Governance & Performance, the Intern will be supporting the team in various duties.
Note: this is a 4-month term runs from May to August, 2026.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Provide support to PGI’s Commercial and Business Development teams, assist with commercial readiness for new capital assets, and collaborate with Operations and service units at Pembina;
- Create and enhance plant performance dashboards and reports, assist with upstream analysis and production forecasting, and work with analytical tools such as Aveva PI Vision, PI Datalink, and Microsoft Power BI;
- Update engineering records and technical data including drawings, project files and asset maps;
- Travel to operating sites as required to support various engineering and business functions;
- Support Pembina’s “Zero by Choice” safety culture, Life Saving Rules, and values by working in a safe, respectful, trustworthy, collaborative, and inclusive manner;
- Contribute to an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace by being kind, professional, and effective when working with others; and
- Support day to‑ day engineering and learning activities, including the use of tools such as SAP, Microsoft Office, and Copilot.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program and returning to school in the fall following the end of the work term;
- Field of study aligned with, or providing relevant transferable skills for, the role applied for;
- Preference will be given to student who have completed the 1st year of a four-year accredited Engineering program in the disciplines of Mechanical or Chemical;
- Ability to commit to the full duration of the term and required schedule;
- Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn in a structured environment, aligned with Pembina’s values and safety expectations;
- At the end of the internship term, you will be asked to complete a learning project and deliver a presentation summarizing your experience, key learnings, and contributions.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
This position is scheduled to be posted until end of day: 03/11/2026. In rare circumstances, a position may be posted for less time if there has been significant interest in the role.
