Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for a Digital Communications Advisor to join the team.  This position reports to the Supervisor, Digital Strategy and Engagement in the External Affairs Service Unit, part of Pembina’s External Affairs Division. The Advisor, Digital Communications, will be a key member of the Communications team and will support Pembina’s projects and operations through involvement in various aspects of the Company’s internal and external communications initiatives. Focus areas will include digital media, media analysis, research, social media, website maintenance, stakeholder communications, media relations, and crisis communications support. This is an 18-month fixed term role.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Providing day-to-day oversight and ongoing maintenance of Pembina’s website and partner websites. This includes ensuring accurate and well-written content and developing new pages;
  • Working with teams across the business to assess their communications needs and develop/execute on comprehensive communications plans;
  • Assisting with the development of briefing notes, speeches, key messages, community and project materials to effectively prepare Pembina representatives for interactions with stakeholders including the media;
  • Participating in and, where required, overseeing Pembina’s emerging strategy for engagement with and monitoring of social media;
  • Supporting corporate and community events;
  • Updating and maintaining distribution lists (i.e. newsletters, media lists and other lists as requested);
  • Assisting with the development of communications materials for corporate, project and community-based programs. This includes writing project-specific information packages, project updates, open house storyboards, presentations, materials for open houses and other supporting materials;
  • Coordinating Pembina's various media materials and databases;
  • Conducting media monitoring including review, analysis and reporting of media releases that focus on Pembina, the midstream industry and more broadly, the oil and gas sector;
  • Providing communication support in the event of a crisis and participating in the on-call schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Public Relations, Communications, Business Journalism or Marketing; 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a public relations, communications, and stakeholder relations; 
  • Excellent writing skills, complimented by above-average Microsoft Office skills; 
  • Expertise in communications planning and implementation, and project management; 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, along with strong attention to detail; 
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/tasks, meet deadlines and adapt to changing deadlines/priorities; 
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders; 
  • Oil and gas industry knowledge is an asset;
  • Experience with HTML, website management and Adobe Creative Suite and 
  • The ability to travel, as required.
