Overview:

Pembina is looking for a data architect to join our Information Services Unit (ISU).  Reporting to the Director, Data Services & Enablement, the Data Architect plays a key role in implementing our Data Strategy across process, people, and technology areas.  As part of the Business Enablement team, they will represent and collaborate with the Data & Analytics teams to guide the design of data systems and ensure alignment with various data initiatives to meet business goals. 
 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Further develop and define plans and roadmaps to execute Pembina’s Data Strategy to further mature processes that drive value across the enterprise; 
  • Engage, collaborate, coach and mentor stakeholders across Information Services Units and Business Units to outline roles & responsibilities, development programs, facilitate development of standards, in efforts to improve business outcomes;
  • As part of our Business Enablement team will facilitate idea generation, early prototype development, and encourage innovation across Data & Analytics teams for the consistent execution of analytics use-cases; 
  • Working directly with Delivery Leaders, provide guidance as a technical data leader on approaches for day-to-operations, enhancements and projects teams related to data platforms, data architecture and data domain design; 
  • Define requirements in data governance, access management, cataloguing & quality management processes to facilitate effective business use of information models.
     

Qualifications:

  • Experience in data management, data warehouses, data science, data architecture and data modelling approaches is required;
  • Experience in delivering production solutions with major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), modern data platforms and enterprise IT & OT applications is required; 
  • Will prefer candidates with experience in Microsoft (Azure, PowerPlatform, Fabric), Databricks, Palantir, AVEVA PI, and ERP systems; 
  • Passion for technologies that leverage varying Analytics and Artificial Intelligence techniques;
  • Experience in heavy industries (Oil & Gas – E&P/Midstream/Refining, Mining, or Utilities) is preferred;
  • Knowledge and understanding of data privacy, confidentiality and other applicable regulations (PIPEDA, FERC, etc); 
  • Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders; 
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related business experience.
