Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is recruiting for an internship role to join the Analytics & Reporting team in Calgary.  This position reports to the Analytics Manager in the Information Services Unit (ISU), part of Pembina’s Corporate Services Division and will be required from August 28th, 2024 to August 31st, 2025.

 

The Information Services Unit has responsibility to continuously improve data, security and integrity of the network from infringement, interruption and destruction of sensitive data. We depend on the help of our talented people who are constantly looking for innovative ways to improve our processes and existing technologies. Our focus is to collaborate with our customers and colleagues to land cutting edge technologies to help improve the way we work, maximize productivity and reduce cost which in turn could possibly help contribute to the environmental solutions that can help with our climate change challenges. Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety;
  • Gather and document requirements for business and technical problems in the analytics space;
  • Provide input for the design and development of analytics solutions;
  • Work on multiple tasks and projects as a team member;
  • Perform analysis for a wide range of requests using data in different formats and from various platforms;
  • Research tools, frameworks, and mechanisms for data analytics;
  • Design, develop, and integrate functional dashboard systems using tools to enable easy interpretation of corporate information, workflows, and actions;
  • Follow Pembina’s standard methodologies for data assessment and interpretation across multiple dashboards to ensure consistent information representation;
  • With guidance, maintain and enhance existing code for reports and visualizations;
  • Build monitoring and validation frameworks to maintain and ensure high data quality standards; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace;
     

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a university co-operative education program;
  • Currently a second-year Science student or higher;
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills;
  • Energetic, positive, and motivated;
  • Possess a strong work ethic and the ability to generate superior results under tight deadlines and competing priorities;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills;
  • Desirable experience:
    • Working and developing solutions in Azure, GCP or AWS;
    • Python programming;
    • Databricks or Spark; and
    • SQL;
  • Ability to work well with others and thrive in a team-based workplace.
