Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Sherwood Park office is actively hiring for a Sr Advisor, Damage Prevention & Public Awareness to join the team. Reporting to the Manager, Damage Prevention & Public Awareness in the External Affairs department, this role contributes to human safety, protection of the environment, and preservation of Pembina’s infrastructure by supporting Pembina’s Damage Prevention & Public Awareness Program.
The Advisor brings direct pipeline experience and supports key components of Pembina’s Damage Prevention & Public Awareness (DPPA) Program, focusing on translating program requirements into effective field execution through documentation, implementation, monitoring, collaboration and continuous improvement.
The External Affairs Unit brings together Land, Communications and Government Relations to provide essential services to projects and to ongoing Pembina business.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety;
- Support key elements of the Damage Prevention Program, including land use and depth of cover monitoring, one‑call notifications, locating and marking, ground disturbance, pipeline crossings, right‑of‑way patrols, and public awareness;
- Draft, implement and maintain DPPA Standards to meet or exceed regulatory requirements and industry best practices;
- Ensure the DPPA Program is appropriately represented in Pembina’s Operational Excellence Management System;
- Build and sustain internal and external stakeholder relationships to promote, educate, and train on DPPA requirements;
- Participate in hazard/risk assessments to mitigate damage to Pembina infrastructure and investigate and respond to unauthorized activities and potential threats to pipeline integrity;
- Support program reviews, field inspections, and audits, collaborating with internal teams to address compliance gaps;
- Leverage Damage Prevention technologies, tools, and best practices to improve efficiency and processes; and
- Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience supporting safety regulation or damage prevention for buried infrastructure;
- Minimum of five years’ experience in pipeline construction, maintenance, or operational supports;
- Practical knowledge of pipeline regulation, standards, and Damage Prevention Best Practice (cross-border experience considered an asset);
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage and educate diverse stakeholder audiences;
- Must be a self‑motivated, collaborative professional with strong problem‑solving and customer‑service skills, and the ability to think strategically, innovate, and support change;
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with experience in both office‑based and field‑based settings;
- Established experience building and maintaining relationships with industry partners and associations;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, GIS mapping tools, and other relevant software applications such as irth Utilisphere, SuccessFactors, and Intelex SMART;
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, or processes and apply them effectively in a fast-paced environment; and
- Valid driver's license with a clear driver’s abstract.

Pembina’s Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Fridays.
